FPS
what fps are you running?
I can't make my system use my NVidia GT 740M vs. the Intel HD 4000, but NVidia GPU activity is showing it's being used by the game.
I'm running 25-30 fps in medium setting and 45-50 in low when in town.
is this ok? does it look like i'm actually using my NVidia and not just the integrated?
what are you guys running? what's your recommended minimum FPS?

It's definitely using your Nvidia, that HD 4000 would barely be getting 6fps. The GT series are not high-performance cards and on top of that you have the mobile version, which is a fair bit less powerful then the desktop equivelant - 25-30fps is about what you should expect at medium settings.

may pick up a few frames if you turn off some of the eye candy--things like shadows, glare points, lower physics settings for others.
With a tweaked Standard Laptop profile turning such things off or down, I can maintain 30+ most the time (gets weird in the HEAVY fates though). I use adaptive v-synch though, so it never goes over 60 even in my room--but it can break 80 if there isn't much going on and I completely disable vsynch (but can get some odd tearing sometimes).
I7-3630QM (2.4 GHz Quad Mobile CPU), 8GB DDR3 @12800, Nvidia GTX 670MX (3GB) on Windows 8. It's an Asus G75VX ROG system I found on Newegg for about $900 refurbished (still get them back in stock from time to time if anyone is interested).
