Viera & Bangaa as playable races

Ok so I know that FFXIV never implemented new playable races, but personally I would love to see Viera and Bangaa become part of the game and playable.
Right now the races are the same as the ones in XI with just a different name.

It would be weird because people would wonder;'where were they during the great war', but hey, even the miqo'te are a race that migrated to the lands and spread out? :)

possibly something for an expansion? ^^

Well, there are conspiracies (I think even confirmed by Yoshi). Hydaelyn and Vana'diel are the same planet in different times or planes of existence, so that's why the races are so similar. I dunno if I would like something by the Ivalice Mythology in Hydaelyn, just doesn't seem to fit. Now if there is a race similar to Viera/Bangaa without being those races explicitly (Like a bunny race), I could maybe live with it.

Hydaelyn and Vana'diel are not the same world - they just share common features like simillar player races and some of the beast tribes (I've also heard people saying Hydaelyn is also FFIII's world, FFVI's world or even FFVII's Planet in different times, all of which is false).

The races of Hydaelyn are similar to Vana'diel's races, but they're not exactly the same (the XIV version of XI's galka for instance, the roegadyn, have females of their race, and lack the tails the galka have), so it just doesn't fit.

Yoshi is already aware of the popularity of viera, but he stated in the past he doesn't want to introduce that race to XIV because he would have to design a new male version of the race, and also feel that the 'animal/human hybrid' race is already taken by the miqo'te. So the 'one Steve limit' trope is very much in effect here I'm sorry to say.

As I understand it, they had a poll regarding whether people would like to see a race "like Viera" in the game and people apparently thought that meant "do you want Viera in this game?" and voted on it.

i think this would be great :D

I'm surprised they hadn't made an MMO using the Ivalice Chronicles (Tactics, TA, TA2, and XII) as the base, considering that's the most visualized world they've made.

I wouldn't expect to see new races in FFXIV, in all of the years of XI they never added one. It kinda sucks but I'd say what we have is what we're going to get.

we have a lot of races already don't we?

plus, it would take a long time to adjust every piece of equipment and emots to a new race.
but if they can, go for it I guess.
