Question for End Game Raiding SCH (Those guys with ilvl 90 stuffs lol)

What are your base +30 stats into? Do you even play SMN when not healing?


I've heard a few different ways to spec

1 - 30 Vit then I can meld my accs with MND which gives me more area to play with SMN?

2 - 15/15 int/mnd SMN won't me the highest dps but it wont be the worst and heals will been decent?

or should I say screw it and go 30 mnd


(atm I am enjoying both of them and I want to play both but I've been leaning towards healing)

Also if I go pure MND is it even viable to play SMN in raids?

Atm I myself am going with 30 intell cause I decided to try SMN and dont feel the need for those 30mnd
I'd say my gear allows me to do so (full bis imo - allagan book cause twintania said no)

I'd rather go 30mnd or 30int and switch with gc seals items if you feel like changing jobs.

So tldr; if you wanna heal and start with low gear go for mnd

I went 15 int 15 mnd and it's definitely enough for the scholar side. My summoner feels okay too, but since I don't play it quite as seriously I can't give assurances there.

Well if you're leaning to healer then you should spec into 30 MND, no one wants a subpar healer. oh and you can't meld mind into the healing crafting accessories.
Vit is only for if you don't meet the 4k hp requirement for T5, but I've done it with 3.8k hp so it shouldn't be a problem.

My base is +30 MND because SCH is what I consider my main. I still play SMN, however, though not in coil because the situation basically never comes up (i.e. Turn lockouts...). I believe regardless of what you do with your allocated stats, you can still play as either in most endgame content.

Are you in a static coil group? If so, what role do you plan on playing (SMN or SCH)? Because of SE's stupid raid lockouts for coil (yet gear lockouts for CT...) it is likely you would go as the same role each week if you were with a static group. And because of that, you might as well invest in whichever stat does the most for the class you plan to go as. Of course, this is all up to you and you can do whatever you want, really, but that is one way to look at it. Good luck!

P.S. Stat allocations are stupid. If basically everyone chooses the same exact allocation anyways (+30 into main stat, for most jobs), then what is the point?

Can't meld MND onto anything unless it's NQ (and even then you're only bringing it up to what HQ would be) or not healer gear (in which case it's generally pointless).

15/15 is "enough", but I'd rather just go 30 MND and if you ever NEED to play SMN for something that matters (extremes/coil) you can use the stat reset item from GC. You do not need bonus VIT unless you are severely undergeared in turn 5.

I have 30VIT, yes. Fireball on me and 2 others gets me down to about 800hp now; a couple weeks ago when I was still in DL pants and Vanya Hat+Robe (and everything else i90), it killed me outright unless there were 4 getting hit (our group has 2 BRDs and the extra time for the DPS is nice). Next week when I have my chest piece (I started as WHM main and ended up buying accessories first because I hated playing SCH, but I've finally resigned myself to it enough to buy the fugly myth gear), I will likely consider revising my stat allocation, but I'm pretty sure everything i90 except for 3 pieces of i70 doesn't really count as "severely undergeared".

You can drop or pick up as many base stats as you like, but the sad truth is; they make very little difference. I didn't want to just make a claim like that without backing it up, so I went in game and took some screenshots:

To show how serious I was, I didn't just revert back into some rubbish level 50 gear; I went the whole way and unequip everything other than my book:

Item level 13, MND 291.
Physick 660.

That means 186 MND increased my Physick by 313; and that's the gap between an item level 88 and an item level 13 (who hasn't even unlocked Sastasha yet)

It's because of this I've considered throwing all of my attribute points into PIE; since PIE scales well with my MP regeneration and also with the amount returned to me with Aetherflow. It isn't like I need the MP, but it's better than anything else; and means I can Adloquium spam more often.

Mostly meaning left side i90 in regards to being undergeared; i70 Astral accessories with VIT melded can "replace" missing left-side i90, as can VIT allotment. But right side i90 doesn't help much in regards to HP.

This is something I have actually wondered about, but I don't really know how to test it properly or I would. According to the game itself (going by the party stat bonuses, anyway), SCH main stat is PIE, not MND. Now, we all assume SE doesn't know what they're doing when it comes to stat allocation on gearsets, but I keep thinking that maybe there's something being overlooked. This might be it. Or it might not. If I knew how to test it, though, I'd be doing that right now.

This makes sense, and matches up with what I've experienced. Since getting the CT hat and buying the myth pants, I've noticed the extra VIT points are starting to be redundant. But I'm thinking more research is in order before I mindlessly (ha!) pour them into MND.

EDITED TO ADD: I repeated the above experiment, sort of, only I got into combat with some level 1 mobs and parsed myself spamming Physick until I ran out of MP, first with my normal gear, then with nothing on except my book. With normal gear (i87, MND 441, PIE 341), Physick averaged 992 (13% crit). With only my Omnilex Zenith equipped (i13, MND 263, PIE 240), Physick averaged 640 (11% crit). This confused me a bit, so I grabbed a Keeper's Hymn and re-specced from VIT to PIE and did this again. In normal gear, my PIE is now 371, but the first thing I noticed was that I didn't run out of MP. I could still be sitting there spamming Physick if I wanted to. Heal numbers were also surprisingly slightly higher: average 1028 (14% crit). At first I thought this was just that I got more crits because I sat there a little longer before realizing that I wasn't going to run out of MP, but then I checked the graph (I use ACT parser, exporting the file, will see if there's somewhere I can upload it to link), and there was something there I hadn't expected. About 1/4-ish of my heals were higher than normal, without being crit heals. I can't think of any possible reason for this to happen, though, so I'm going to assume it's some kind of parser error until I look into it further (there was a low-level ACN nearby killing stuff, it might be crossover). I had summoned Eos for some reason and forgot to press Obey, so she was Fey Illumination-ing me. Anyway, this not running out of MP ever thing is definitely worth looking into.
