Help spending my Myth on WAR!

I'm preparing my soon to be 50 WAR with gear, and I need some advice on what to upgrade using my Myth. For now, I want to at least be able to run Turn 1-2 with it.

What I have so far:

Garuda Scream ( will be Bravura as soon as I hit 50)
Myth helm
Armor of Light
Darklight Gloves
Darklight Belt
Darklight Flanchard

All Darklight accessories, except for an Allagan Ring of Maiming

I have 1350 Myth saved up, what should my first upgrades be? I'm aiming for whatever's BiS for WARs who are main tanking!

Gloves, Belt, Ring. All accuracy increases. Since you have the Light body you don't really need to buy Myth body right away but if the Allagan chest doesn't drop for you soon you're going to need it to stay at acc cap for 1-4 and still increase your survivability.

If you're looking for stuff you're not going to replace with Allagan, you want Myth Gloves (Allagan hands *suck*), Myth Ring (you need 2 and it's the only one with acc *and* parry), and Myth Wrist (higher parry than the Allagan wrist and helps you not be redundant on Acc when you've gotten everything else).

If you're looking for stuff that you can buy that'll be on par with Allagan, you want Myth Chest (higher parry, lower acc than Allagan chest), Myth Pants (crit instead of det), and Myth Boots (Acc instead of Det).

The other Myth stuff I wouldn't bother with: the WAR helm is simply terrible because it has no parry *and* has speed, the Myth belt has no parry, and the Myth neck and ear both have speed (which is the worst stat, imo, because of the completely terrible rate of return).

Reverse of that.

Also WAR helm is perfectly fine, gives more DET, STR, and VIT than the WoL helm at the cost of a little bit of extra parry chance. It's better than the Allagan helm for OTing, too.

He's already got it so it's a relatively moot point. Personally, I prefer my tank gear with tank stats on it so, if it doesn't have parry, I'm not really interested. I choose to use the CT helm rather than the Myth one for this exact reason.

But parry really doesnt matter if it does not bring you to the next Tier.

There is no way to prove that there are tiers. We don't have a parry chance that we can see on our sheet, and the variation could be nothing more than statistical anomoloy. All we have for reduction is the visible percentages when we get hit, and they could be simply rounded.

I don't know one way or the other, but I could quite happily declare that 'There is no tiering on any stat in this game' and be confident that no one could prove me wrong.

You do have a parry stat that shows when you parry. When you see 404 Damage 23% Parry. That is your parry %. Take off your gear. Agro a mob and let it attack you till you parry. I bet its 20% or 21%. Add like 4 peices of parry gear. I bet you now will parry 21 or 22%.

((Parry Stat/67)+(DEX*0.0876))/100=Parry %


This is unless I am mixing Parry % as how often you parry rather then the Mitigation form Parry.....

After thinking about it, it has to be the chance of parry and not the mitigation from parry. So Parry is tiered as well as mitigation.

To test this Keep your STR and DEX exactly the same. Only change your +parry stats. I will with 100% garentee you will change your parry tiers.

You do not need Myths at all for t1-2, hell you can do t4 in full DL. Anyway what i took was:

Myth Ring. There's a lack of good rings, this is a great choice.
WAR chest. To replace DL stuff which doesnt have accuracy.
WAR Helm. To replace the AK helm you'll be wearing now, allagan helm drops from T5 so this is a safe choice.
WAR gloves. I bought them as one of the last pieces but its a good cheap upgrade and BiS i think.
This doesnt require you to pray for any single drop.

There arent many Allagan pieces BiS for a fresh 50. Belt and Pants are nice iirc. Focus on your accuracy first, i would advice some good HQ la noscean toast. When you have more than enough acc you should worry about the myth accesories, like bracelet, and the allagan gear like chest. Also dont get relic +1, go for the extreme axe then get your BiS going.

Strength is soft capped, that increases parry amount.

Parry isnt soft capped, every point of parry should do something, its just a super tiny amount, and it increases parry chance. Its hard to find your parry chance, but you can more than safely run around with a couple items without parry. The real tanks stats are the Vit and Armor that belongs to ilvl90 gear.
