[SPOILER] The Uma Bugyo Heavensturn event is so lame

I can't possibly be the only one who thinks this event is lame.

The whole story line is just ridiculous.. The horses are forbidden, so they want me to run around with a stupid horse helmet to show people how awesome horses are? What do they think this can possibly achieve? They are seeing "me" running around, not any actual horse. And why would I want to comply? They make me think all Eorzeans, myself included, are idiots. And the rewards are lame too. These horse helmets are not even slightly adorable or useful, only creepy.

So far the only "seasonal event" I partially enjoyed was the Lightning quest. And that one was nicely done to promote Sales for the upcoming stand alone FF lol. Rest was a complete waste of time and a headache to fulfill.

Talk to NPC A, move on to zone B, talk there to NPC C, move on to zone D. Repeat a dozen of times until your head explodes. Is that what SE game designers think is enjoyable - over and over again? I wonder if we will EVER see a proper quest with maybe, just maybe..drumhwirl...a new/altered dungeon/area to explore behind it? I know it is an absurd idea to expect new fights from a seasonal event *sigh*

Just stick to FATES and make people running around in horse heads they can't even store at the inn. That's the real fun and it's cheap to create so it is a win win situation. Oh wait no, it's not. O_o

Yeah I too hated the event I was hoping for samurai looking armor from this event but the helms are garbage I couldn't get rid of them fast enough not to mention it pisses me off how they talk down about my chocobo f them I love my chocobo

All you chocowackers and soulless minions of orthodoxy. I have no time for your horseplay. I will grind you under my hoof. We will overcome your persecution with grace and equine-imity.

It may have been horrible, but it was at least a short break from pulling slyphs out of the same plants they get eaten by every day...

I enjoyed it alot, i'm bored of fate based events so stuff like this with a couple of cutscenes and some none combat based questing was exactly what i was looking for....i hope more events follow this and the lightning returns events way of doing things and we get less stuff like the xmas event which was a waste of time.

It is not that non-fate based events are lame. It is the content. The story makes me feel like an idiot. And it is just not FF to even attempt to replace chocobos.

It's a joke holiday, lighten up. I thought there was some really entertaining dialogue in it, and some funny scenes.

If you have done the quests far enough to encounter a cutscene with a Fledging Adventurer in Western Thanalan, that might answer your question about what good does it do to show people YOUR beauty, power, and speed while wearing the horse helm when it is not the REAL horse itself. Here's the dialogue:

I really like this smart solution to the seemingly ridiculous logic of the whole quest line.

By the way, I enjoyed the quests because they are hilarious. Gave me quite several good chuckles.
