A token system in CT to help with RNG

Running CT over 20x to see your item not drop is not fun, especially when your myth/philo capped, as you're just stuck with constant repair bills and no gil earned in that place.

How about a Discipline of War/Magic token that drops off each boss (eg. legs, feet, hands, chest) that counts as a piece of loot if won. If the item you want doesn't drop then you can have a shot at the token if the correct one drops for you and can trade it in for an equivalent ilvl80 gear, and you be locked for the week

At least it can be an alternative and it's a tried and true method

While tried and true, SE has stated numerous times in the past that they don't really have any plans to implement any type of token systems. This kind of system proposal was brought up during the days people farmed HM primals for weapons, I think I recall a PLD that ran Ifrit HM over 100 times and still saw no sword drop.

Tokens would be nice, but I just don't see it happening based on previous responses from SE about it.

They have started with something that is almost a token system. Ex Primal quest, you get all three, you get to chose a weapon weekly. It's a small step in the right direction, maybe SE will loosen up and eventually move to a pure token system.

This is SE's version of "content" to keep you around so no, they will not be implementing anything like this anytime soon.

This is not WoW and token system doesnt work with FF14's armour system. If there is a token it would be one specific job only for each. You are still going to run 20 times if you are not lucky. What is the point?

Back in my day, we would raid something over and over to just hope for a rare piece of loot or killing mobs over and over to hope to get a card drop to only see it vanishes into thin air failing a capture (Rappelz that's only 4 years ago). We have enough token already, philosophy tomes for i70, mythology tomes for i90. God forbid you have to do a dungeon over and over for a piece of loot.

Why would it be that way? In WoW your tokens were tagged by class, not by armor/weapon type. All Squee would have to do is say "This token is for PLD and WAR" and "This token is for MNK, DRG and BRD" and "This token is for BLM, WHM, SMN and SCH."
