Change loot rolls so that they exist outside of the instance.

I love alting and normally hit greed on anything I can't use as my current class. A lot of times, other people will pass or they'll greed as well and I'll win. This is great when leveling alt classes as you already have some gear waiting for them and you obtained it by basically collecting "trash" that no one else needed.

The problem is, at the end of a dungeon, I'll press greed on something no one else needed and wait for the loot to be distributed. But other people seem to try to work the system by not rolling at all hoping that everyone else will just leave so that they auto win the loot by default. So, you end up standing there, awkwardly, waiting for them to realize you're not leaving until the loot is won by someone.

How about changing it to where the loot roll exists outside the instance itself? This way, you could leave and if someone didn't roll at all, they'd auto pass when the timer runs out. This would also give people in CT the full duration to roll pass if they didn't need something at the end of the dungeon.

I'm not sure you thought this all the way through.

The two major issues I see are:

a) Duty Finder instances exist on their own server. Once you leave, you are returned to your server. The game cannot keep track of the lots from both servers and synchronise the results.

b) If it were possible for the loot list to exist outside the instance, it could be abused. People could guarantee Titan weapons for a fee for example: Win fight, exit, shout the reward and take offers, invite top bidder to lot on gear.

If WOW can do it, I'm sure SE can figure out how to make this game do it as well. Also, your b) doesn't make any sense at all as the chest was already clicked on and the loot window is already in your UI.... how would the loot window also appear on a new party members UI if the chest was opened while they weren't in the party?

I want the loot window to still be there when people leave the dungeon. All they'd have to do is create a separate "instance" for the loot itself that each of the party members access during loot distribution. Again, WOW is cross server and if I roll greed and leave, I will still win the loot if my roll was the highest.

The loot list is for the party. If you join CT mid-way through and your party has an open loot drop you can lot on it.

I'll just leave these here.. Happened to me a few months ago. Don't know what kind of glitch this was but the timer ticked all the way to 0 and said was unable to obtain. Also I already had the body so idk if that's why I couldn't need/greed but I could pass.

You can do this in DCUO as well. Roll, leave, still get loot.

in those games, you can still send messages to people on other servers while in an instance server. This game didnt properly integrate world servers and instance servers. i find it ridiculous that i cant even send a tell to a person in my group in a dungeon.

Unable to obtain means it's was unique and everyone had it already (so it couldn't force it on someone)

In a Dungeon if you already have the piece you can still try to lot it, but it will tell you that its already in your possession.

Yes, but you said timer hitting 0 and it saying unable to obtain was a glitch. If no one rolls, and timer hits 0, it will give the item to someone that can take it (first people that can need, then those that can greed). I was just explaining a reason why it says unable to obtain.
