Cancel (circle) on DS3 not functioning like Escape key on keyboard

I think the correct behaviour for cancel would be to close every open window on screen like the Escape key does. Instead more than often I find myself stuck with one or two windows open which need their special hotkeys to be closed also after being focused. "Recommendation" is one for example.

This is not really a bug, but it's quite annoying nonetheless. Not at the same level of the old mandatory "auto-lock" on controller's sticks, but you get the point.

I do agree that the Recommendation window is pretty annoying and should be possible to close by Circle as well instead of scroling down to the Close button.

Yup, that is one. But it's more like a general behaviour issue. If a window loses focus then circle is useless. Instead I've seen ESC does work. SE should make at least an option of map Cancel as the ESC key.
