PS4 Controller configuration on PC?

unlike seemingly everyone else here, I prefer the PS4 Controller to the PS3 OR the Xbox 360 (I know, I'm weird). Anywho, I got my PS4 controller connected, registering and mostly working fine.

However, the buttons (Square, X, Triangle, O) Do not correspond to their appropriate places. I've tried the Controller Configuration under the system config menu, but during the configuration, no controller inputs register. That is, I cannot actually "change" the assigned button layout.

Any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

I am having the same issue on my end with the DS4/PS4 controller.

The device works perfectly and I can use it to play in the game. Every button's input is received with just one issue: The buttons are all wrong. I have attempted to calibrate the buttons in the client to fix this. However, the calibration utility does not work.

Specifically this is the issue:

Before clicking Begin Calibration, the small window registers every button press just fine. As soon as I begin the calibration, it no longer registers any input at all. If I cancel the calibration it works again. This is the EXACT same issue reported by someone else that was moved to the resolved issues:

This is obviously NOT resolved. It would be perfect it the client allowed us to remap the buttons with the calibration utility. But as for this moment, it does not work.

Google "ps4 controller ffxiv" and the top link from reddit tells you how to configure the buttons correctly. Been using the DS4 in FFXIV for about a month and it works great. Hope this helps!

Yes playing with a PS4 controller is much nicer then regular PC controllers just gotta to some tweaks to get it working though.

It seems that there have not been any further posts about this concern being an ongoing issue. Because of this, we are considering it to be resolved.
