Critical Damage and Me

I was wondering whether anybody had any information on the theorycrafting behind critical damage chances and a place like the binding coil?

Reason I ask is that I am aware that the Paladin skill "Awareness" is bugged, but I do not know how this effects me overall because I A. do not know a lot about healing in this game and B. I do not know anything about the critical hit chances of bosses, whether it changes per turn in coil like accuracy requirements seem to, etc.

Could somebody fill me in, or point me somewhere that has this information? I can't find anything with google - only details on PLAYER critical hit damage and chances.

Awareness has been fixed, so the entire thread is not really relevant.

Critical damage is always 150%. In some tests parses, enemies crit around 6% of the time against PLD, some players have theorized that PLD reduces crit chances (possibly from a core 10%) by pushing them off the table in parries and blocks -- you can't get a crit and a parry in the same attack (//EDIT: Note that I haven't tested this myself, I cannot say for sure). You can expect that Awareness reduces damage 3-5% at most while active. Skills cannot crit, so if skill damage is a large portion, then Awareness might realistically be 1-2%. However, that's not really the point of the ability; what it really does is prevent that extra critical damage from one-shotting or nearly one-shotting the player.
