you call this PVP?

like the title says you call this shit pvp? it's so unbalanced for melee its ridiculous, i definetly wont be resubbing for this trash pvp wannabe sample...

melee setups are just not viable or competitive, sure you can get a lucky break once in a while, but when your dealing with a good enemy group on the other side with those i win setups, namely scholar/whm... blm/smn... its over, you might aswell just sit down and lose... its not worth it, not fun and definetly not a pvp match that requires any skill to play...

between sleeps that last over a minute if time right, they can bind you for almost the same time, follow up with heavy debuff for another 30 secs, and stun you for at least 10seconds if playing a paladin... and those tinkery trash resist materias are supposed to help with this? only if its to make the table turn their way even further.

when my sub runs out its over, and i bet many will follow... people were expecting good pvp... but between dealing with those issues, still have to deal with latency and bugs(bunny hoppers) i dont ever think this game will be good for pvp, at least for european players specially if they are close range fighters... maybe in something like 3.0 this game may be balanced properly and actually have decent servers placed in europe so we can play properly and have a smooth experience. Ill enjoy has much has possible my last two weeks of this game and prepare myself for future mmo's that will most definetly put this mmo to the ground in 2014...

sorry to say but no one that is a actual final fantasy fan was expecting PvP to be in anyway good in this game. If it does anything right its to just kill some time and distract you for a little bit.

If you want a game with good PvP go play a game that is built around PvP, not a game that is built around PvE and gets PvP thrown into it.

So if you had to compare PvP in Final Fantasy XI and XIV, which is superior?

In FFXI at-least they had Brenner and Ballista- which allowed PvP matches but it wasn't the entire focus.
I'm curious why they didn't take the same route and solely made the PvP content so plain.

Is there any one vs one matches in the Wolves Den? If not, I probably wouldn't bother with it.

I understand if you weren't expecting pvp to be great, but I expected it to be at least semi-balanced and playable. I pay a sub (2 actually) and expect anything they come out with to be in good working condition.

I knew full well there would be problems, but not to this extreme. With all that said, I still play it and enjoy it. Not because it's an engaging experience, but because pvp is my preference. I expect it to be patched and fixed. If it's not, I'll just play a different game for pvp (which I kinda do anyway) and continue to pay my sub as long as I enjoy the pve.

What I will not do is make excuses for a company that develops broken products. It's kinda like SE said, "LOOK....let's just get this done before the holidays, OKAY?!?" I wish they would've just waited until 2.2 :(

While I agree that it is not so easy for melee to stick on a target...the burst double melee can put out is crazy. A lot of the secret lies in the pvp skills you pick. I run double melee comp...Mnk/Drg, and my w/l ratio with it is 83-5...most matches end quickly in our wins too... Double melee IS viable. Another rly important part of succeeding as melee is having a good healer who is quick at removing debuffs from you such as sleep, bind, or slow. Also I noticed op is a Drg. Drg has the least problems of any melee damaging and sticking on a target.

u know who doesnt have to be in melee range to do damage and has binds and/or movement speed debuffs? ALL RANGED melee need slows end of story

actually im a warrior... my forum shows lancer has it was my first character..
