Alternate Transportation
A suggestion: Adding an NPC to all three major cities and to ones added later. This could be used when the following situations occur:
A. Anima is low, and you don't want to waste anymore.
B. [When] Chocobos are available, but you need to go a great distances in a very short amount of time.
C. Airships/boats are in the same position as chocobos.
I am sorry to those I may offend with this next comment, Bring the Outpost warp style to FFXIV from FFXI. You pay gil to teleport to a Node/Camp. The price of the warp would depend on the place you want to go. You can only warp to these areas if you have reached them before.
Example:
1000 gil to a random spot of the 3 major zones (cheapo)
5000 gil to warp to the major cities.
10000 gil to any camp.
15000 gil to any node.
Pros: Instant trasnportation to a zone you need to be at. Forces the player to explore to be able to warp there. Gets rid of some of the gil inflation. Save anima.
Cons: May abolish the anima system. After all areas explored, may make the use of chocobos/airships useless until new areas are unlocked. Lots of people are gonna hate this idea.
Do you like/dislike? Suggestions on how to improve it if I missed something?

From my point of view, I prefer to have Chocobos because with that transportation mounts/airship would be useless.
That transportation would be fine if we didn't have Anima system.
-
I'd prefer if they did get rid of anima for that system. The regeneration is far too slow to rely on. But chocobos could still be useful if they put chocobos by every camp like they did with the crags in FFXI. Unless the area you want to go to is near the camp then there is no need for a chocobo, but if that camp is the closest spot to the area but still far you could buy a chocobo then.
-
i say if they added any kind of teleport system, they should keep the anima system but reduced the max number you can have idle, as well as reduce the regeneration time by like 2 hours or so.

Greetings Jinrya-Geki!
The thread was moved from Site-Feedback to General Discussion. It was in the wrong section, so now everyone else can join in on the topic about alternate transportation.

Yes, Jinrya-Geki the mage, I agree with a system like this. If you were a wizard I wouldn't agree but since you're a mage it's ok. Who would want to be a wizard if you could be a mage? Mages are infinitely times better than wizards. Also wizards support anima and mages don't so that's like way better and stuff.

In FFXI even after years of playing and having nearly every outpost warp I still use Chocos for trips where it just doesn't make sense to go from current (Jeuno) > home nation (Windy) > OP > walk across 0~3 zones, same w/ the airships since as a windy native the odds of getting Ronf or Gusta in your OP list is just well ... not happening lol
It may do away w/ anima, but imho that wouldn't be a bad thing at all, insta-tele from anywhere to anywhere pretty much kills other forms of travel, unless u have poor anima management skills.
I miss my choco I spent so much time raising him ^^

Site-Feedback?! lol what was this thread doing there hahaha
I like your idea!, but with a much more expensive cost, there're much gil in the game, this is a nice way to waste =)
it's too cheap, we want to use chocobos!

what do people think about having warp warpII and whm tele's? could thm use warps and conj tele in the future? abolishing anima of course.
-
Hahaha I've been playing FFXIV too much. I keep putting /l.
Anyway... I only used that gil amount as an example. It could be adjusted.
Chocobos would still be useful as well as anima. It's more situational on time. If you have the time to waste you could take an airship to a major city. Also a chocobo ride would be good.
But let's say you're late going to a dungeon run in Mor Dhona. You only have 2 options:
1. Use you anima to teleport to the closest camp to the dungeon, then to a node if it's closer.
2. If low on anima buy a port to the closest camp/node to the dungeon.
