Stupid Question RE: Party Finder and CT

Why does nearly every CT group I see forming in Party Finder have the DPS specified as BLM BLM BRD BRD? The tanks and healer aren't set as class-specific, so why would the DPS be?

Edit: To be fair, I also see some groups specified to be a different class in each slot, which makes more sense to me as far as loot drops goes.

you know how people are you can only win with the party they want.

Ranged damage dealer is the best damage dealer.

Also, CT needs a lot of fast add killing so summoner isn't that good there.

Indeed. I'd hate to admit it but going in as drg I waste SO much time doing nothing due to all the running around I have to do to keep up with the adds. Jumps are too long of a cool down to make up the difference. A ranged dps is simply better with the way the raid was designed.

Doesn't necessarily make the difference between victory or defeat but its undeniable a party of ranged dps will have it easier then a party of melee. That's just the reality of this games own design.

Usually the raid parties I encounter will have melee focus on the boss and leave the adds to ranged. It's all fine and dandy. I doubt we are supposed to run around to grab adds.

Even in places like copperbell. Ranged can handle the adds just fine.

I see why ranged DPS may be preferred but honestly you can FaceRoll through this raid with any combination that knows what to do. Even when the other parties seem to stand on the purple area, kill the skeletons right next to each other or generally wipe constantly.

At the 4 people on the panel boss and you don't have a lot of ranged DPS your tank can always turn the mob for you so you don't have to get off the panel to max your DPS. Hardly any tanks will do this but I did it once and the MNK was loving it.
