35ms ping but various lag and sometimes unplayable

I am running the game wired to Verizon FIOS 80/50 internet. My ping to US server is 35ms. I play variety of games and none have this issue.

If my Paladin uses a cast time ability and I move while casting it takes 1 second to show interrupted.

When an enemy displays a red zone for its attack I can immediately move out of the way.. be FAR from the red zone and still get damage. I can be behind the enemy when the red zone is only in front and still get hit. This makes the game near unplayable in dungeons as a tank on certain bosses. I read I can try and view the cast bar and will try that but the red zones are not working for many people.

I read this was accepted as a bug months ago. Is there an ETA on this? I need to know if I am simply wasting hours of my time leveling in a game that, for me, is broken. I work in IT, and while not in the field of game networking, I can easily follow any instructions you might have for me. Or.. if you could just let me know the status on this issue so I can determine if I should keep playing or just get a refund.

Ok so this is just a user form. Well if anyone has suggestions let me know. I might try wtfast tonight and see if that helps. Otherwise I will send in a ticket until I get word on the bug status.

I think they already fixed this by reducing the .3 delay.

If it still doesn't work for you, I recommand installing Leatrix fix, at least you will know it's not your fault afterwards.

exacly the same problem i really dont know what 2 say is problem of FFXIV ARR servers? is problem of nodes and of too many passages before reach the server?

also i would like 2 show this topic in the BUG REPORT ACCEPTED SECTION.... by few months ago PPL with 100 mega connection got this issue.... is not possibile like that

the lag isssues in this game are almost the biggest issues and square enix dont care at all, they did last patch 2.1 with data center... nothing changed at all after months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah I noticed it while leveling pre 2.1 but didn't pay much attention as nothing was killing me. Then last night against Chimera in Cutters .. I was getting hit 60% of the time when I moved entirely out of the red zone with plenty of time to spare. I didn't get in the extra hit.. as soon as the red zone appeared I strafed the hell away! I get hit behind enemies sometimes when the red is only in front. Anyway, this attributed to wipe after wipe on the boss because the healer couldn't keep up with the additional dmg I was taking. Because of this..everyone in the group was effected not just me. People who say this doesn't effect them and they dont care.. think again. I am going to play some more tonight and focus more on the casting bar and see if I can work with that for now. Hopefully I can.. otherwise the game is somewhat unplayable. I don't want to sink hours and hours into a game where, as a tank, I will be worthless in end game content. I will go back to another MMO that does not have these problems for me.

This is me too. I had some issues ever since moving to New York from Wisconsin (still using Time Warner Cable both places)... it wasn't bad enough to cause problems until 2.1. Now I get these 5 to 10 second spikes randomly and often 90k afterward. I don't have these issues on any other game. It's not a signal problem, it's not a routing problem, it's not wifi... I really have no idea what is going on. My ping to the game is consistently around 60ms. Late at night (like 1am EST), I have almost no issues at all. It's during the day and evening that the game is practically unplayable for me anywhere that requires a lot of movement (like Titan EX... today was my second time ever getting knocked off by landslide... and then it happened at least 10 more times, not to mention multiple plumes to the face).

I don't want to pull the "omg fix it or I'll find another game" card because I really like this game, but it's not worth $15/month for me if I can't clear content. :/

topics for the lag issues keep poup up, square enix intease of invest their money for good server, and more for cover all the ares of players, they did only stupid updates data ***** center and other things take not are a solution.

SQUARE ENIX ONLY SOLUTION IS IVEST YOUR MONEY MORE MORE SERVERS, LESS NODES, AND COVER ALL THE ARE OF YOUR GAMERS GIVING SAME CONNECTION FOR ALL PLAYERS.

or players will stop play because game is becoming unplayable at all i dont think ppl will gift you money for a low quality and incomplete service, is full of topics where ppl have the game UNPLAYABE and you dont care nothing at all....

Perform multiple trace routes and send them off to your ISP. No one cares about the size of your pipe. That has nothing to do with lag. You could have google fiber and still have lag. This game uses so little data. soooo littleeeeeeee, however bits and pieces are getting lost on the way to canada land. That is between you and Your isp the hops along the way. I stirred up TWC Los Angeles, sounds like you need to start get politely annoying to Verzion.

EDIT: WTFast is nice. Wife and I are using it however it doesn't fix all the problems.
