Screenshot to show what is happening. This is gamebreaking since I can't compare stats without equipping it and it's impossible to know what quest items to choose.

Go under Character Configuration -> UI Settings (2nd Option) -> Check to make sure "Display item help." and "Display action help." are checked. That's about the only help I can give at the moment hopefully that helps out.
