Unfair Player Commendation system.

I didn't see a post about this. The current system is unfair to solo players. The system needs to be where you can't select another player within your party.
Tonight I did Garuda from the story, I was matched with other players who had joined as a group, I was unable to receive player commendation points due to the fact they all were in a party together, but I was still able to give them one. The current system is not just nor fair to solo players but still rewarding to those who are in a group so long as its 3 or less.
With a system where even if you're in a party you can still select other people so long as they're not in your group the solo player has a reason to continue doing instances with others, otherwise its no different than doing it with a group yourself. There will be times were 1 person is solo and will automatically be given 3 but it's still a better system than currently in place.

I'd agree. They should make it so the party members you queued with are grayed out (like what happens when you open the commendation menu and party members leave)

I am one of the party members who was in this Garuda run. I was assisting a tank from my FC on my healer, so half the party in the instance was in a previous party.

The OP was an excellent player. Helpful, friendly, accommodating - everything you would expect should earn them a commendation. Unfortunately, because I was in a party with my FC member (and because they were, as well), I could not give this player their commendation.

This system is clearly unfair. If we're meant to give commendations as a sort of kudos for being friendly, talkative, helpful players, then it is counter-productive to have a system in place where a portion of the party cannot vote for any player who willingly joins the instance solo.

Please consider making it so that party members who were in a previous party together simply cannot vote for each other but can still vote for anyone else.

I don't even care about being able to get commendations in solo play. My problem is that I usually queue with my wife and we play with some amazing, patience, nice, talented players and we want to be able to give some commendation. It feels so selfish to get to the end of a run with one of these people and not be able to reward them only to find out we got commended.

I understand why I can't commend someone I queue with, but I'd like to be able to commend others that deserve it rather than feeling like I'm punishing them because I choose to play with my wife or friends.

I've been a little confused by the system because I've only done a few runs and in most of those people left before I really got to look at it.

The last run I did was great and I liked everyone. I had a list of people to commend at the end but I only seemed to be able to commend one. Can we select more than one at the end? I felt bad because I wanted to commend everyone and I only commended one person :( But if we can't select more than one then I suppose it's not my fault.

Whew, and I thought this would be a "dps never get commended only tanks and healers" thread. I tanked a good party last night, the rest of the members were all awesome that it was difficult to choose who to commend. While I feel honored I received 3 commendations from all of them I think that it would be nice if people could consider commending the dps if the dps did a good job, or at least allowing us to commend more than one person in the party. It dampens the spirit if as a dps you know you did well, gave everyone in the party advice and boss tactics, and you don't get any gratitude at the end because everyone defaulted to commending the tank and healer.

But back to the op, yes I agree with you that the system is "broken" by not allowing you to commend someone who wasn't in your party when you joined DF. I hope SE addresses this soon and gives everyone a fair chance to commend each other.
