Black Mage auto-marco?
I have few question and if you guys haven't notice I am a noobix that play as tank (for end game cuz others don't want to be a tank) and I'm very interested to learn more about black Mage. I have mastered it in 1.0 and lot has changed from there. Thunder- is thundercloud skills almost like fire starter (pops up used up no mp and instant cast in random cast followed by fire I) but only difference is the "ticks"? What is ticks? Also If that's the case is there a Marco where we can run it and it'll automatically cast fire III (fire starter) when fire starter pops up, if it doesn't pop up Marco will detect it and skip that step and go straight to next step. Hope that makes sense?:confused::confused:
Thanks in advance!

There aren't macro's like that. Macro's in this game are kind of useless for combat (except specific cases, which don't really relate to BLM) as your Global Cooldown is 2.5 seconds, and macro's only work on full seconds.
As for thunder procs, they're the same as Firestarter procs in the sense that it is insta-cast and costs no MP. However, it does the full damage that thunder would over the course of the DoT. If your thunder does 50 damage every 3 seconds for 21 seconds, you'd do 350 damage. If you got a thundercloud proc, your thunder spell you use with the proc would instantly do 350 damage and then continue doing 350 damage over time.
"Tick" just means each tick of damage. Each time your thunder spell does damage you have a 5% chance to gain a thunder proc. Seems a little low, but the ticks are pretty often and if you cast thunder on more than 1 enemy you can get a lot of procs.

Ticks are each time a DoT deals damage, which happens every 3 seconds (or 1 Eorzea Time minute). Thundercloud works pretty much like you said, but also gives it a lot of upfront damage.
There isn't a firestarter macro because the game registers procs when the spell hits, so you'd have to wait after each fire. In practice, you'd want to be part way through your next fire1 cast before you actually get the proc. It leads to some wasted firestarters, but overall is an increase in dps.
You can check out some of the blm rotation threads to get a good idea of what's up.
