im not sure what triggers it but my summons keep suddenly saying that they cant be commanded while in a free stance and wont allow me to order them to do anything but what to attack obey doesn't work ether they just sic.

you have to use Obey on an enemy (...... yes.....) and then Heel (or it doesn't follow you anymore).
you can macro it, but i'm sure it's not working as intended.
