Edit: What exactly do you mean by a ladder / rating system? Do you mean that each person will be categorized into like Rank A, B, C, D and Rank A players only fight against Rank A players? Similarly, in order to progress to rank A you must defeat X number of Rank B players?

Ladder/rating system can come after they work on the kinks. If you want to compare this to wow, consider this pre-season.
