Yoshi-P says WHM was not nerfed, situation similar to "warrior is strong" fiasco
The purpose of this post is to highlight the mistakes made by the class balance devs & Yoshi-P's statement of WHM was not nerfed as per Reinheart translation.
1. Medica2
'Also some are misunderstanding on this one, for Medicara (2 on English?) the heal amount hasn’t changed. The additional effect added onto the character was reduced to half and duration was extended to 30 seconds.'
'The HoT that’s put onto the players after was adjusted from 100 to 50 and increased from 15 seconds to 30 seconds. By doing this you won’t need to recast as much. Also I have pointed out to the development team that this HoT is being wasted. Players are already at max hp and it’s over healing. By casting this at a earlier time it should become more stable. It will be very important to figure out when to use medica, medicara, curega.'
On paper, medica2 is still healing for the same amount. In reality, only the HPM(healing/mp) is the same, the HPS(healing/sec) is NERFED by 50%. This is only for the HoT component which makes up about 71% of medica2's potency. I won't go into the wasted frontload potency of 200 which is about 29% of medica2's potency as it is currently usually being wasted.
I respect your opinion on medica2(won't need to recast much, HoT being wasted, overhealing) but you do not nerf the mechanics of a spell just because of bad whms who do not know how to utilize the true potential of medica2.
Imagine as a dps, your DoTs is 100 potency over 15sec. Devs decided to 'buff' it like medica2, halving potency but double the duration to 50 potency over 30sec. Looks the same on paper right? True fact is you just lost 50% of your dps.
2. Holy
'Next for Holy, we reduced from 240 to 200, it was too strong from healers point of view. We don’t want to give a pressure to WHM where they have to use Holy, but concentrate more on healing, this is why it has been reduced.'
Straight up 17% nerf in base potency with a piss poor reason for why its nerfed. See the pattern? You want your players to play as what you think it should be? Its an expected nerf to holy from the decent whms and I am not complaining.
3. Cure3
'Next Curega it wasn’t used as much so we lowered the cast time, and increased the range to make it more useful. Curega is a target AE. What that means is you can target the tank and by using curega on the tank it will heal the nearby DPS as well. In patch 2.1 there are many situations where you will need to use this curega.'
Looks good on paper, every sentence is a buff(lower cast time, pitiful range increase). You buffed almost everything except the part where why players do not use cure3. It seems like you do not really understand why players do not use cure3. The inferior HPM per target even with the pitiful range increase & bonus activation tied to low % proc from rarely used cure2 is what put decent whms off from using cure3. Majority of current encounters is of HPM check for healers which is the opposite of other mmos where HPS check is more dominant.
Remember the statement you made about "warrior is strong"? The decent wars made feedbacks & told the devs why it is inferior to pld but you replied with the statement "warrior is strong". Obviously the fault lies with the class balance devs who answered to you as I do not expect the producer & director to go into such theorycrafts & class mechanics. 3 months later, you acknowledged the wars issue and from the number of changes & buffs made to wars, any decent player will realize how bad wars were pre 2.1.
Please listen to the endgame community regarding class balance & mechanics as long as it does not interfere with your direction of how the game is heading towards. We, the decent players know much more than your devs(edit: we know more because we spend much more time on a particular class over time & not because we are better than your devs). Lastly, please do not give hilarious reasons or hide the fact that something was nerfed. It is a laughing stock to the rest of the endgame community in other mmos when the devs here do not know theres a big 50% nerf to the HoT component of medica2 in terms of HPS.
Concerned players should make sure this gets into the devs head or eyes. This is not about this patch, if they can do this to wars, whms, they could do it to others. Think far ahead, future encounters with such nerfs. Or just admit it, nerfs because of PvP.:rolleyes:
