Help on 1 star 40 durability crafts

Hey guys, I've been looking around at guides and youtube to find some kind of rotation that can help me with getting HQ on 1 star items with a 40 durability and all I can find is guides that require all DOH to 50

I can get HQ on 80 item one stars but the 40 ones is just driving me crazy.

So anyway, what I have so far is:
Weaver, Carpenter, Alchemist - level 50
Culinarian, Goldsmitih - Level 25
Blacksmith, Armorer, Leather worker - Level 15

I'm in HQ job gear, have the class quest item, and HQ milita off hand, all accessories are HQ. No materia yet, trying to figure out which would be best, so I know that is one big down fall.

So basically I'll start out with Ingenuity > Careful Synthesis 2 > Comfort Zone > Steady Hand

The middle part is where I'm having the issues trying to get my quality up. I am using Tricks of the Trade when it procs, but haven't found any combination of skills that really gets me past 9% or 11% quality.

I'll finish off the synth when I have no more CP to expend with a Steady Hand > Greater Strides > Byregot's Blessing > Careful Synthesis

Get your CUL up to 37 for steady hand two and that will help a lot when you use Hasty Touches.

Steady Hand II is core to Hasty based crafting.

If you don't have SH II and or Waste Not II you will need all HQ Mats, close to capped materia and that is time consuming at best. Crazy expensive as an alternative.

Thanks for the input. Manged to get Cul up to level 30 before the maintenance and 2.1, so just 7 more I to go. I've just been dreading leveling it, although I want all DoH leveled sometime.

Also any input on what materia is best to use? I know CP is always good, Control effects quality? and Craftsmanship effects the regular synths??

Look on these SE boards, you'll see materia caps for the crafting gear.

One other piece of advice though : use Comfort Zone first. Don't start with Ingenuity and then Careful 2; start with Comfort Zone, then Inner Quiet, THEN Ingenuity and Careful 2. Between Waste Not (1, not 2 - WN2 is complete garbage) and Manipulation, you should be getting plenty of Touches in, and you want the bonus provided by IQ for each Touch, as well as its impact on Byregot's. (Your sig is out of date, BTW, as it says you have 38 Carpenter, and you said in your post that you have 50 Carpenter. If the sig is accurate, and the post not, then get 50 Carpenter. If the post is accurate, and the sig not, then update the sig.)

I don't know how much CP you have. My own 40 durability rotation depends on how many CS2 it takes to finish a synth :

1 CS2 : CZ, IQ, SH2, WN, 4 Hasty Touch, Hasty Touch, Manipulation, SH2, WN, 4 Hasty Touch, best Touch, CS2.
2 CS2 : CZ, IQ, SH2, WN, 4 Hasty Touch, CS2, Manipulation, SH2, WN, 4 Hasty Touch, best Touch, CS2.
3 CS2 : CZ, IQ, SH2, WN, CS2, 3 Hasty Touch, CS2, Manipulation, SH2, WN, 4 Hasty Touch, best Touch, CS2.

In the 3 CS2 rotation, I'll use CS2 on the first "Normal" or "Poor" Condition in that SH2->WN block.
In ALL of those rotations, I will NOT use Tricks while Steady Hand 2 is up. Use it at any other point, but NOT while either of the stated SH2 are up.
The term "best Touch" means the absolute BEST Touch move I've got CP for, boosted however I can possibly get it boosted. With 50 Carpenter, that means, ideally, at least a Great Strides->Byregot's Blessing. However, that depends both on how much CP you happen to have at the start, and especially on how many Tricks of the Trade you are able to get. If you happen to have the CP to cover that "best Touch" with a SH or SH2, then you can feel free to use Tricks in there, if you so desire, just not in the main SH2's.

As mentioned, look up the materia stat caps for crafting gear.

Short version: You can cap all three stats without using grade IV materia on everything but Chest and Offhand. Chestpiece would lose out on a single point of craftsmanship for not using a Grade IV. Offhand weapon you can't cap all three even with Grade IV (can cap CP + one of the other with grade III) so it's mostly personal preference there in terms of what you prioritize. I'd suggest CP and Control.

There's currently no (at least widespread) guaranteed method to HQ 1 star 40 durability crafts from NQ mats. Hasty Touch is your best bet, though with enough stats you'll be able to do the finished gear (80 durability crafts) without needing HQ mats, at which point HQing the 40 durability crafts is just a waste of time unless you plan to sell them/want the # of items HQ'd achievement.

Thanks guys, and yes my sig is out of date. I thought it was suppose to update every 12 hours or so but it hasn't. Anyway, I'll make those changes to my rotation Roth, not sure why I wasn't using Comfort Zone first. I guess from when I'd do a normal synth when Ingenuity isn't needed to get 1 step from completion.
