2.1 Logic

I think the game has been gaining far too many players, so SE has to cut down on the rate of growth by pulling a Sony Online Entertainment and killing things people love, nerfing things nobody complained about, and turning casual content into the most prohibitive task that even the most elite FCs can't afford.

This kind of direction is taking the game from a "I'll never leave this is so awesome and I'm having a ton of fun" to "Maybe I'll check out that new WoW Expansion when it comes out or The Elder Scrolls?"



Seems to be the attitude of the community I see here. That and some White Knights who nothing will ever tarnish what they see. Yoshi-P could sucker punch them and steal their wallet and they would feel honored.

Finally someone here knows what they are talking about.

The white knights in this game are ridiculous.

Indeed, this update does not look good...... unless you're a war, then you're finally allowed to come up from the basement and join the rest of us.

SOE aka Sony Online entertainment. I only ever played one other of their MMO's other then 14, Star Wars Galaxies. Needless to say SOE destroyed it with absolute impunity equal to a nuclear bomb.

However back to the main topic, SOE not making sense you say, well how did everyone like dem Bard nerfs?

I usually don't do the whole calling people out for white knighting but I feel like there's something seriously wrong when devs spend time making content that's designed to be casual that's out of reach for 95-99% of the community and people feel like this is acceptable. Like not even from an "entitled player" standpoint, more of a "why did the devs even bother making something they didn't want most people to experience and enjoy?"

Esmian, all my casual friends were looking forward ot the housing more than anything. Like couples were looking forward to owning a home or RP community.

It was the way for them to do something with their time, show their decoration skills, have fun being in a world ya know? The people not clearing coil had content for themselves. Well, hell, we clear coil in 5 groups a week and we don't have 300m.

Who is housing for now? RMT? Gilbuyers?

Pretty lousy Christmas we've just been handed.

FC Housing only dupe exploiters from 1.0 can afford, or RMT customers.
Inane class changes (Thunder? wtf?)
PVP for PVE (not pvp) balanced classes in a PVE (not PVP) oriented game designed ~twice~ for PVE (not PVP) balance
More boss fights that should just tell you where to run and kill you if you don't get there in two seconds.
More NPC/Dungeon loot to further collapse the player markets
Still unable to craft in the privacy of your own room without having some troll rubbing his groin on the retainer bell.
Can now talk to the beast tribes that you've spent the past fifty levels murdering 'cause someone offered to pay for your travel expenses for the day to do so.
You can now kill the King of Moogles, but you can't mug a mailman for his letters.

Overall I'm excited about most of what I have read from the patch notes. The biggest complaint though is player housing of course.

I have a legacy character but he doesn't have a lot of cash, more than your average but I couldn't afford the smallest house on the lowest cost server with him.

I started over, though, with some friends on a non-legacy server and I have been slowly leveling and have all crafts 35 or higher. I don't get much time to play these days. And I haven't gotten a load of Gil.
