Largest house on Hyperion = 150M gil = 150 people donate 1M each, easy

I'm going to set aside the 625M for JP legacy because few of us are on those servers.

The most expensive possible house on Hyperion (legacy) costs 312M, which can go down as far as 155M with full discount. FCs can hold up to 512 members and the largest houses are "supposed" to be for the largest FCs. If everyone in your FC contributes an equal amount of money, you can raise 155M with a measly 300k contribution per member. That's not unreasonable. Obviously very few FCs have that many active members, but even with only 150 members, it'll only take a contribution of 1M each. I can make 1M in less than a week just by casually selling HQ mats. If I were more serious about selling 2-stars, I could easily make more.

Obviously the price is way too high for smaller FCs with fewer members, as it should be since a giant mansion isn't the correct size for companies with that few members. I recall somewhere (forget where) that small houses are recommended for <20 members and large mansions are recommended for 100+ members.

Now the hard part is convincing/forcing every member to donate.

tl;dr housing prices are appropriate for the size of house you're getting, assuming all FC members contribute

Largest possible plot: 155,000,000g / 512 members = 302,734 gil per person
Largest possible plot: 155,000,000g / 155 members = 1,000,000 gil per person
Small first class plot: 25,000,000g / 20 members = 1,250,000 gil per person

If a bunch of stoners can summon the effort to make 312 million gil, why can't you?

Dailies + duty roulette + treasure hunt = 20k gil per day per person
= 140k gil per person per week
= 6-7 weeks to reach 1M per person
1M per person * 200 members in FC = 200M raised = Big friggin' house in ~2 months

Yeah... the idea that 10 members needing a FC House seems silly to me especially if they don't give any effort and just want hand me downs

Good luck with that.I been in guilds in the past where people didnt even want to pay a modest guild dues.I dont really see to many mass recruit guild(sorry fc) members giving the guild 1m+ for housing.

Guilds of 512 members in a game where the biggest content requires 8 players, sure.

The largest houses are for the largest FCs. Does that not make sense? Why does a 10 person FC need the biggest honking mansion designed for 100+ members?

What I'm basically saying is that the game does not support large FC. In games where you typically encounter super large FC (and 512 is large) you have content which supports FC of that range of size.

As an example, you can find guilds with thousand of players in Eve online because these group typically have dozens of systems to upkeep and protect and need large groups of people to wage war on their neighbors. In FFXIV the idea sounds just silly as the largest group content is 8-man with a 1 week lock out.

Meta argument. Would you as a single player give 1 MILLION gil (probably all you own) to a FC that you may not belong to in 6 months? This isn't Japan, where they have that weird thought-crime that if you don't participate in the group, you're a weirdo. (Japan has the highest sucide rate of the developed nations btw.) More individually-centred nations like, well, everywhere else, won't have citizens who think it's a good idea to give all your earned gils to a single person who may, on a whim, fuck off and leave you houseless.

270k, ok, so instead of getting 2 more vanya pieces (let's assume you want 2 more vanya pieces for some reason), you can donate that money to an FC housing fund with your friends and buy a house appropriate to your FC's size. Since gil rewards don't scale with the server housing prices, it's _easier_ for low pop servers to generate gil. A full WP run takes 9 minutes and each person earns at least 2k gil (including repair costs), and probably more like 4k. That means each member's onus on WP runs, as an example, is just 100 runs.

4k gil per run * 100 runs = 400k gil
100 runs * 9 minutes = 900 minutes = 15 hours

Lv45 leves can give 1-2k gil each, treasure hunts and beastmen dailies sound like they'll drop a decent chunk of change, there are lots of ways to generate gil (as opposed to taking from other players) which can easily offset the cost of housing, as long as each member pulls their weight.

Some ppl are worried the FC will disband and then it's gil wasted too.
It is also seen as taking the satisfaction of earning gil because if that's all it's being earned for then players won't buy much on the market for individual use, like food or materia for example.

Right now in this game there's no sense ofr any FC over 50 members. That's more than 2 full groups for CT when they give us the option to go in with 3 partys and not just DF the other 2 groups.

And more members usually means less cooperation by member.

A guild with 25 members willing to give 50%-60% of their savings till now shoud be able to affort a medium size land. That's not the case, in any server.
