Class Uniforms

Before reading, keep in mind if you'd like:

1 - Class specific Uniforms to include 8 unique sets for Disciple of Hand, and 3 unique sets for Disciple of Land (Only)
or...
2 - City-State specific Uniforms to include 3 unique sets allocated for both Disciple of Land & Hand classes (Only)


OPTION 1
Simular to AF (Artifact) gear in FFXI, each Land&Hand class could be quested a special gear set tailored for specifics to it's respected class. Each uniform for that specific class can't be used for other classes, making it [Unique/Untradable].

OPTION 2
Simular to conquest gear in FFXI, specific City-State uniforms could be quested for all Land&Hand (Perhaps War&Magic) classes, unique in design via the City-State chosen during the character making process.

The idea is only classes are able to wear the "Class Uniforms" as if you were in school learning to perform better at the role. So jobs would not benefit from this gear. The uniforms altogether would have reasonably good stats through a long period of grinding to take the need to replace it after a short period (i.e. Class uniforms' stats would fall behind after Rank 20,30 or 50). Each gear set would be [Unique/Untradable].
Designs could stem from modern Japan schools with unique touches that compliment Eorzea's fashion. I wouldn't want to see sailor uniforms tossed from the idea, Scholars had such a AF/Relic "Uniform" that appealed to that factor.

You may want to change the title, since I immediately thought you meant like blacksmith/conjurer/botanist/etc.

Well originally that was my intention, but as I began making the post, I thought that having 8 different uniforms would conflict with the idea of saving space in inventory.

But thinking on it again, having gear suited like that strictly for city-states would deminish it's appeal on the classes as it doesn't make them unique to each. If there was a poll I could make I'd create one asking between the two forms.

Anyway I'll adjust the first post to include both ideas soon.

Well, AFs are otw already (hopefully not for jobs only...classes deserve AF just as much as jobs). But hopefully we will have company-exclusive sets for those that join that company too.

perhaps we could add some kind of banner on our gear depending ont he company as well. So we won' have to wear additional gear... and all could be toggled on/off

I haven't seen anything about AF-like gear coming to FFXIV, but for me the forums here are confusing to get around and I say that mostly out of the fact of who's players, admins and these dev tags that I don't fully understand.

Also to add to what Anty wrote, which I think is a wonderful idea to option 1, where every AF-like gear for that class displays the city-state you had started from. Other than this idea, there is no way to know who started where as this was not the case in XI. Simply /check'ing an individual would display his title and starting city.

Ok now I remember reading that :D

But the point that Yoshiさん makes there is for jobs, so my thread should still hold value. I might be going back and forth between options but I feel that having to switch gear between classes of the same disciples eats up inv space.

The ultimate vision I had though is the "going to school" aesthetic appeal. We play what SE calls classes yet really there isn't anything that distinguishes classes from jobs other than names and greater customization. If you could remember how males and females had different designs of certain gear in XI.

But being reminded of the JSE's Yoshiさん mentioned would damper the meaning of this thread. Let's not forget about the classes though, I'd like a nice ALC made AF gear set that makes me look like an actual alchemist too. Or a uniform that caters to, even if it's just low rank, all classes.
