Dear Yoshi, we love you... but seriously, why are the crystal tower and coil lockouts not tied to our jobs? Would it be so hard to code it that way? The current system really kills the enjoyment of the game for a lot of us, and makes it silly to level all jobs on a single character. Instead of having choice, we just have a weak and easily shattered illusion of choice.

I imagine because quite a bit of gear from Coil (and presumably CT) aren't tied to jobs either, and even if they were, that would allow seven more lockouts potentially than we have available to us now.

That is a good point Disrupter. I still don't think lockouts should be tied to jobs, the CT loot system is perfect for coil. Whether or not its perfect for CT I don't know, but one thing that's nice about the lockouts is that darklight and crafted gear isn't instantly irrelevant just due it the existence of easily farmable CT gear.

because then people would have full ilv90 on all jobs at this point, with literally nothing to do/acquire this coming patch.

FFXIV doesn't work that way at all. I've amassed gear on my Paladin intended for my Warrior on the same character, this is not something that can be done in other MMOs I've played. The situations are quite different it seems to me, and thus different considerations are to be made.Quote:
