Questlines that differentiate us

I'd like to see some choice involved that actually affects us, I know we have the grand companies, but we can switch, Id like some questlines that make us actually choose and allow for uniqueness, the one thing the game is lacking, things similar to lightning strikes (unqiue armor/hairstyle) of course choosing to do it doesn't alienate us from other things.

This goes for DOL and DoH classes also, job path quests that award unique partical effects, or+stats or abilities or modifiers, or anything really.

Im finding stats to be too simple overall, which could be fine if there were other ways to spec your char uniquely, IDK I just don't like feeling generic, and right now it feels like there is such a clear path for progression and really NO choice for the thinking individual, its cut and dry more or less. anyone else feel the need for more diversity within a class?

For every supporter you get, there will be someone bitching about "why must I be forced to do something I don't like for the stat I want".
Sad but true.
