Where is flank?
Hey guys,
Can anyone tell me what are the areas of a mob that counts as Flank from MNK perspective?
If a mob is facing 12 o clock, 3 o clock and 9 o clock is flank. But is 4/5 o clock considered as flank? For Caduceus in Coil, is there a position that you can stand that will trigger back attack and still allow dragon kick to get its bonus potency flank attack?

Flank can be finicky. It's generally to the side, bit it sits as a bit of a cone. I don't know the exacts of it myself, but look at the circle like a pie split into four parts, if that makes any sense.

When you target a mob it puts a circle on him. The rear is indicated by a small missing area of the circle. The flank is just next to that. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/j1...f4pqCuB2W869_B

some flanks are more forgiving. but generally for bosses like caduceus and chimera there is no way to flank and trigger his tail attack. sorry

You cannot simultaneously back attack and flank attack. What I do as DRG on Cad is to run behind it and hit my back attack ability as I am passing behind it, not stopping. This triggers the tail swipe and gets me back into flank position.

You can indeed make caduceus trigger its tail attack while hitting the portion of the flank just near the back, I do it like that. I won't repeat the areas to hit, the previous posters made it very clear.
