Need help on Hydra...

Hi, I just started early November and hit 50 WHM two weeks ago and working on relics. Now I have to run Hydra to continue the quest on but problem is.... It's really hard(...)

When I saw this video, it seemed pretty much doable with modest gears. But when I tried with PuG, it wasn't the case...

I had hard time healing tanks when they get "Infirmity" debuff and the tanks in my group kept getting this nightmare debuff constantly(...). I was paired with pretty experience WHM and he also had hard time keeping them alive. Is it actually be healed through?

Also, I don't know, but melee DPS kept dying on tail swipe and ranged was also kept getting one shotted by some AOE... I was running out of time as well as the other healer. So, we dropped the group.

Is there anywhere I can find Hydra group? Or, any server wide dungeon channel?

You'd think after 50 levels people would learn to not stand in the red but no, that's rarely the case.

Basically, your tanks were performing poorly as they should very rarely/never get the infirmity debuff (connection issues aside). There is one cone AoE, can't recall the name, the Hydra does with no red marker but you can dodge it by just running inside the Hydra. Same situation for your melee/ranged DPS, get out of the red. If they get hit by the fire AoE it puts a massive DoT on them and, if not removed quickly, will typically kill them.

There is a linkshell out there for level 50's looking for group or trade but it's pretty quiet these days. There may be others, but I don't know of them. Look me up in game (on this character, Dedayius Lascarion) and I'll either tank or DPS for you depending on what's needed, I'll also see if I can get some FC mates to come along too.

Gosh, LFG linkshell is already inactive? Looks like most people finished up those relic quests and only slackers and a few late comers left and desperately trying to catch up, I guess...

I think a lot of people are doing them with their Free Company these days honestly. There are still a few shouts a day though looking to put together Chimera/Hydra groups in Revenant's Toll but nothing like it was at its peak. A lot of people are getting stuck at Titan HM so that's slowing the turnover of people going for second/third relics.

I think the next patch may also put both of these fights on the Duty Finder which, while maybe not increasing the odds of a success, will at least make it quicker to find a group :P
