Im new to FF14, and loving it very much.! But there is nothing in the chat? Im used to people yapping about anything, I only see my own stuff.. :/
Is my settings wrong or whats up with that?
My server is Moogle, if that makes any difference.
And is there a newb chat/linkshell I can join to help me get started.?

Most ppl chat in there Free Company or Linkshell so you might want to shout around for a good FC.

Also, check your Chat settings are on General, and not just Battle etc - wereby all you see is what YOU are getting up to! :)
You might have clicked and changed this without even noticing - I have a few times and then thought WTH??! Is everyone snoozing??!

Hehe yea, that was the first thing I thought was wrong, cause I though it was strange.. The only chat i've been getting is tells from gold spammers.. >.<.. They really need an option where you can blacklist them from chat, and doesn't have to go to the social thingy.

There is a macro for that - "/blacklist add <r>" It does the last RMT you got a tell from
Also gold spammers...can sometimes be so bad you miss the actual normal chat! :P
For tells, just:
/blist add <r>
( <r> is the last person who sent you a tell.)

Okay, that was weird.. I had to make a new Tab, it wouldnt show in the common general tab.. :/ Weird.
Now I can see people writing! :) No ghost town any more..
Well for starters, the reason you don't see much chat could be your area.. Now what I've notice is there isn't much normal gossip kinda chat at all, but that has a lot to do I think with launch and how BAD the gil spammers were, people were turning off their /yell and /shout channels because they couldn't see anything BUT gil spam.
2nd, a lot of people just chat in their respective free companies and linkshells, so you may want to try and join one, but again that would be best to look at your server forums. While you may not be able to post, you can always look, see the free companies and go to their webpages that most link and sign-up with one of them that sounds interesting and see where that takes you.
