I installed the game yesterday, it went smoothly however after I login and I click the play button, nothing happens at all. I am not given an error message, anything, the launcher just sits there as though I have not even clicked the play button.
Troubleshoot Steps So Far;

* Reset IE security settings
* Updated Video Drivers
* Flushed DNS

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
So I easily meet the requirements. The part that is bothering me is I do not even receive an error message. If anyone has any suggestions I am all ears, I would reinstall it but I honestly do not see that being the issue and would just be a waste of time until I have tried to troubleshoot every other possibility.

In addition to resetting the security options, did you also reset the default settings for the browser? I don't know if the login screen uses any funky special settings like active x or the multitude of other things or not. Might worth trying.

This is usually fixed by simply lowering your internet explorer security settings to Medium.
You can also install Internet Explorer 9, if you haven't already.
I have reset them to default multiple times, I use firefox as my main browser so none of those settings were changed to begin with.Quote:

Something with your internet explorer settings is blocking the play button from working.. It's basically just a web page.
Normally I wouldn't recommend this, but you should manually edit your security settings (custom) and basically allow everything. Or do it one at a time to figure out which setting solves your problem. Also be sure to restart your computer at some point.
You might also try turning off your firewall and/or antivirus. Just for testing purposes. -

To test, navigate to your program files (x86)/Square Enix/FFXIV folder, right click and run ffxivboot.exe as administrator. Make sure all of the files in that folder are running as administrator.
If you haven't already, completely uninstall IE, run CCleaner and then re-install it. If that doesn't work, also try re-installing FFXIV. In addition, make sure that AVG didn't quarantine any of your installation files by mistake. It's also possible that windows UAC blocked something. Turn your UAC to off or low, and make sure you have full administrative rights for everything if you re-install FFXIV. -

You sure you're not running some sort of P2P IP blocking software or something? Look on your list of processes and turn off everything that is non-essential.

I uninstalled IE, ran CCleaner and reinstalled.
No fix.
I checked my quarantine files and I had 0, and disabled AVG during the fresh install of FFXIV. No fix.
I have had windows UAC turned off since I built the rig 8 or so months ago.
No fix.
I do not have any P2P IP blockers running or even installed since I don't torrent files anymore. No fix.Quote:

This has to be the most frustrating problem I have ever encountered with a computer, even worse then printer problems...lol
