Multi shot
This is probably my favourite skill for Archers because of so many reasons.
The spike potential when starting a battle especially the extra acc and crit chance when engaging from behind.
Stacks the nocked arrows with buffs.
However, with the additon of auto attack, how do you think Multishot is going to function?
we can no longer stop attacking and stack this skill anymore.

Its a very good question. Its possible that they will add a way to disengage from mob...or it might just end very similar to trifurcate mechanics-wise...like using a certain amount of TP to nock an arrow so if you have X TP you nock one, if you have 2X TP you nock 2 arrows...
But i'd say auto-attack might stop when you remove lock from a target...would be a very simple way to allow ppl using stuff like multishot properly, also helping with hate control since archer might have to manually control its hate after changes or they will die alot until we have the first adjustments (assumining it will shot at same speed it does now) ^^:

either that or archer might not even get auto attack, look at ranger in FFXI

Archer will. RNG does have auto-attack in FFXI...just not with the bow =P But ARC has no option since the bow is his main weapon. But i don't know where here i read it, but someone said a thing that made sense to me...they might use basic attacks being able to toggle on/off...one click and it start. click again and it stop.

I personally believe that with the introduction of auto-attack Multi-shot will be done away with and we will be left with Trifurcate.

then meh glad i ranked lancer too they take out multishot i go back to lancer main lol but by the way the battle reform Q&A sounded they referred to auto attack as auto attack mode so sounds like its going to be on a toggle

I believe and i hope, that the player will be able to toggle auto attack on and off. I think this is the best way to do it IMHO. The game at its current state with no auto attack is great for careful strategic fighting. However, it DOES need auto attack for lazy easy fights, or certain DD that needs to keep his regular hits while managing other actions.
Basically, if they make it either this or that. It wouldn't be perfect, at least for me.

i was under the impression that auto attack would wait while skills are being used?

If there's a toggle, the system will be garbage. Auto attack can't be done well if it's an option. That'd be like a removeable basement. You can say it and imagine it, but it won't fundamentally work.
