[dev1073] Physical bonus revisions

So here's a question to the dev team - What are you planning to do with everyone's already earned experience points if you remove the physical level? I'm sure the thought has been tossed around, but can we get some sort of direction? Its alot of time and energy spent in receiving those, granted experience points come easier than sp.

My thoughts? Since we've already gained those points, why not let us use them as a one time appliance towards class rank. Sure, it could take probably take an entire class through the ranks in one fell swoop, but as I said, those points are ours already and is it fair that we're just going to lose them completely with the removal of the physical level?

Other ideas welcomed, would like to see if anyone else has some thoughts.

You didn't spend any extra time and energy getting your physical level up. It leveled up concurrently with your class level. There is no way to only level one or the other.

I would think we would just lose the exp earned for physical level if they go away completly and seriously I don't think anyone would/should care.. it's not like it's hard to actually level it since every SP you gain on any DOW/DOM/DOL/DOH gives you exp for your physical level. You wouldn't "lose" anything because the stat points will be gained with class ranks.

There is nothing unfair about losing them, if you leveled a class to X rank, you'll get X rank worth of stat points to allocate for that specific class.

Exactly. To "lose" something would mean that you have control over it in some way (of course, other than refusing to play the game). Physical level is more of a summary of your class ranks.

This, you cannot NOT level physical, its not something you can dedicate to.

Also why are people still doing dev tags wrong... its been 3 months -.-

i think exp should be scaled down and included with sp bonus points for future use on bonus items or whatever surplus points get used for.

Not true. I spent a lot of time and energy purposely getting experience points outside of my main class.

Unfortunately, what is going to happen is that physical levels and experience points are going to be completely deleted leaving you 100% screwed. We ARE losing something here, and that is the advantage of playing other classes to have a stat advantage on your main class. Right now that has been mentioned as being removed without any mention of compensating for it.

Even FFXI had a similar system, known as skill points. If you leveled one job and got your sword skill or evasion skill high, your lower level jobs would fight with those skills capped, giving you an advantage in battle.

That is one of the aspects of the physical level that I would like to keep, despite the rest of the problems of the physical level system. It has a lot of potential.

Being able to augment your main class in some kind of way due to the progress you make on other classes is a good feature to have.

Physical level is near worthless.
