Ever since Yoshi displayed armor labeled AF2/Allagan_2 during the 9th Live Letter, there has been some confusion on what to call the mythology set of artifact armor.
What name is the development team using internally?

I don't think it actually has an official name, at least not in the game itself. Until the actual AF2 comes out (likely 2.2) I think people will know what you mean if you say "I just bought an AF2 piece today!", so if you don't get an answer I wouldn't worry about it and just call them whatever seems right. Myth Armor, AF+1, AF1.5, Relic Armor, etc.
I consider the myth tome gear to be AF1, personally. The set you get in your job questline I consider to be just that - job gear.
Seems like people i play with, most from 1.0 and XI consider gear from job quests to be AF and myth gear to be AF+1
AF1, AF2, AF3. Simple. Who cares what Yoshi showed on the live letter, it won't matter in a few months anyway. Use what's easy to understand.
If you are concerned about the ambiguity of the name simply call them ilvl 90 like I do when i'm trying to find a pug. LFG BLM Coil 6 ilvl 90 (chest, helm, weapon, boots, 2xrings). Then it is crystal clear the quality of gear you have. It could be AF2 or Allagan but at least they know the quality of your gear. Can't go wrong with the ilvl.
And AF+1 to me implies a HQ version of the base AF which myth gear is not. I never liked that label.
I just call it relic gear, cause it's on the same "tier" ilvl-wise as one's relic weapon.
Myth is the second set of Artifact armor, you aren't upgrading your normal AF, you are literally getting a completely new higher tier set. A second version, meaning it's Artifact armor set #2(AF2). The next version which was shown, if it requires the old AF2 mythology gear, it would be AF2+1, if not it would be AF3, your 3rd set of Artifact armor. I explained this as best as possible, hopefully people can understand what I'm saying.
Relic Gear!!!!!!!
