Monk silencing in Turn 2

So Turn 1 ADS is a piece of cake.

Silencing in Turn 2 as a Monk, when you have to, is quite a bit trickier though, as the nodes don't follow an easily recognisable pattern like the 1st one. I know the High Voltages come every 20 seconds or so, so you can fit in more full form rotations than you could in Turn 1 before you need to stand-by in Opo Opo form ready. Now, I have cleared this Turn before when on silence duty, but it was quite the miracle, and it seems I'll have to take up the responsibility again soon.
So tl;dr, I'm just asking on tips, how not to be in the wrong form - and how not to wait in Opo Opo stance so long that the stance times out. Maybe there's a set number of form rotations you do before waiting? My skill speed is 479 at present, if that's worth anything. On top of dodging Repelling Cannons etc it can get a bit overwhelming :)

The High Voltages come out for each node, as you said, around every 20-23 seconds. But the important thing to note is with the nodes on Turn 2 (and ADS), the initial HV is different for each one and not on this 20 second timer. You kinda have to fight the nodes a couple times to get a feel for when the first one is going to come out, but after that first one every HV afterward will be on the timer.

For ADS, he goes off pattern a couple of times, because when he absorbs the new nodes it seems to break the pattern for the first HV afterward. Every subsequent HV will go back to the 20-23 second timer.

It's more of a "feeling" than a must do.
In my case :
For the littl ones, I get a GL stack, HV should come shortly after. Then between each HV it's finish the current totation, + 2 more, and 2 GCD to place as you feel it (Fracture and ToD for instance). Silence, repeat.
For Boss : I leave the first one to BRD or PLD, but it should be 1 stack of GL and wait for it. Between each HV, it's the same as previously without the 2 GCDs. The tricky part is that the plag (sorry I don't know the english name) can delay the next HV, and it's totally up to the total dps when it will be cast. So either you use PB to be ready or you leave it to someone else and synchronise yourself to it.

Thats how I do it:
I do 2 full rotations on the small ones, then I get ready to silence it after that the usual 20-23 seconds~ where you can get ready for HV after every 3rd full rotation.
The big one is a little quicker with the first HV, you'd need to silence it after the first Rotation or have someone else do it when you're unsure.
After that the usual 20-23 seconds which is roughly after every 3rd rotation, always worked out for me.
The only change is when he's casting Rot or Ballast starts then it can vary, you might want to keep Perfect Balance for that.

Don't start this topic. Your group will wipe hundred times if they try to solo silence by a MNK. It is not impossible but not worth it. Your group definitely have 1 bard and 1 pal. They take turn to silence ads is way easier than MNK. the pattern for ads is 21sec to 31sec. You also need do rot transfer. You also need lb(lvl3 lb is very slow) and avoid aoe. If they real need MNK solo silence , your group will wipe when boss HP drop to below 25%.
However MNK can be a very good backup silencer when bard mess up their skill cool down.

Solo MNK is bad, yes. However, you can do single MNK silencing with single BRD support that the MNK can call on to cover their silence if they mess up/need to LB/pass Rot from Tank to Ranged. That works pretty well for silencing. However, it is riskier and not necessarily recommended, as if the MNK dies, it's down to the tank and BRD to silence who might not be in the 'rhythm' to make up for it.

If you do try this method, have a BRD on VOIP with you to provide support should you screw up the rotation. Expect to have so-so dps and have some rather tense moments of the fight!

Your method won't work well. human response need 0.2sec, sever latency0.2 sec, most action animation 1 sec. HV is a 1.5sec casting. When MNK screw up and call helping will be too late for most case. MNK can backup bard/pal silence but not in reverse way. I aways try to silence every single time even I have no any silence duty in the group. Bard do miss since human error or they try to avoid laser.MNK 's backup will help. The hard part is rot coming+aoe+area slow effect+water lock back after 25%.

If you have a PLD and a BRD they should be doing it. If you have two PLD's they should be doing it. Asking a MNK to silence is just evil unless there is no other option.

Yep. This is it. Asking a MNK to silence is about the most useless thing to do. They "can" but wow, why make the fight a ton harder and more annoying than it needs to be. There's no way a MNK can DPS effectively and always be silence ready.

Ended up having unexpected help from a Bard and did it. Got a good feel for silencing myself regardless though. Thanks ;P
