First guildhest...lol
So, after waiting for about 20 minutes (as a tank!) I finally get into the introductory guildhest mission, and all of a sudden it throws me into this instance with 3 or 4 new help-info windows obscuring the middle of my screen, so I go to read the first one, which is like 4 pages long, and AGHHH the mobs are loose already! Then the info-helps for the next 2 or 3 are still there in the middle of my screen so i have to open up each one and then cancel them...
First of all...terrible idea lol, maybe give those help-info popups as soon as the player registers for the guildhest so they can leisurely read them while waiting for others to start the instance...
Second...any idea what those help popups were trying to tell me? Didn't get a chance to read them XD

Well, one of them was probably telling you the objectives of the guildhest: Namely, to pull the monsters individually instead of aggroing the whole group. It appears your comrades can't read.

I had the same problem my first time with guildhests. I started them late, but I'm no stranger to MMO group roles. Still, people were treating these like FATE battles, just trying to kill everything in the shortest amount of time for the best bonus. Unfortunately, people trying to learn new roles simply will not have a chance to read the objectives in guildhests. You might be able to review the pop-ups from the in-game guide, though.
It's truly the one area that falls flat on its face: Teaching people how to play group roles, but not many people want to bother reading what it has to say, even if it's vital. What's more, is that I think there's an achievement for doing a certain number of guildhests, so you get some people wanting to speed run it like a dungeon.
By the way, I think the OP is my evil twin doppleganger....... >.>

SE needs add a major penalty for not completing the objective as intended. Maybe cause the boss to enrage if objectives aren't met? People will fight inside the poison zones when told to move them out of it. People will ignore bubbles and full focus on the Morbol OR break all the bubbles instead of the intended ones. While guildhests had the right idea, there's no penalty for doing things wrong, so people think "why bother doing things the right way"?

the main problem here, is the stack of help pop-ups that fill up the middle of your screen immediately as the Guildhest duty begins.
those help pop-ups should show before you enter the Guildhest.

I enjoyed the GH missions. Unfortunately it's not worth it time wise to repeat them. The further along the chain you get (you must complete one to access the next one, and be the appropriate level) the more complex the mechanics get.
:: Bosses that resummon one another
:: Failure if boss is killed before conditions are met
:: Multiple-spawn location dynamics
:: Enemy holding / Raid focus target / healing
:: Crowd control
:: Pathing enemies
:: Enemy Agro mechanics (I think there's a hate reset)
They're a very diverse set of objectives with huge rewards for first time completion.
