It's not a required dungeon. I wouldn't have Aurum Vale if a friend hadn't talked me into going (as I got to 50 prior to it being your GC requirement).

Could it have to do with the area you are in? Take another screenshot in a different area. Maybe the in-game lighting is causing your Curtana and shield to take on a different color. Just a thought!
