Time to beat: 3 minutes flat.
VERSUS: R50 Con
CAN you claim the king of DoT title? {May} {bee}.
But in all seriousness, I want to see if THM's DoT's beat Con's. We can do about 10k damage to Six arms in 3 minutes with just the DoT's.

WTG Renta, although I think what Peregrine meant was to see Thaumaturge-only DoT spells vs. Conjurer-only DoT spells, which I think Con would win out simply due to having three more. Even though Poison II is stronger than the elemental DoTs, it's not stronger than four of them. :/
Hm, perhaps.
But, if that were the case, then what is the point of this thread? All things being equal, 6 CON DoTs are always going to deal more damage than just 3 THM DoTs.
BTW, this is the first time in a while I was actually motivated to try and accomplish something, just because of the competition factor. Kinda what I was getting at in my "implement achievements and timetrials" thread.

How are the conj dots cross class with the affinity trait? How about all 9 dots?!
Its not the number of dots you have that matters. Its the strength and durations of what you land and can keep on the mob. Functionally I can't really keep all 6 up, its more like 3.5 on average. So if poison and bio do more Damage then more dots is no substitute for better dots.
So yea I lost, ignoring method differences. Well I guess I could retest once I get poison dia and bio II. Might be equal. Kinda doubt it, 40 seconds is a lot of difference. And functionally speaking it would just eliminate three elemental dots from the rotation to add them.
My pie isn't exactly stellar, but I don't think that would matter much.
Fuuu that would actually be a good way to quantify how PIE does affect the DOTs. Six arms has the same HP every time. If you keep your method the same each time, and only change the PIE, the effect will either be on your stick rates (likely capped) or the damage per second of the sticks.
Good grief and you went completely nuts on the PIE. I'll have to go back out there...
As much piety you have more damage Dot deals.
That's why thaum build - Vit/Pie
well I'm not doing anything until the battle crap is overhauled. We'll do this again in August.
