Duty Finder bots?

I'm leveling an alt tank and I go into a Halatali group and 2/2 times there's always an arcanist who never talks and kind of does his own thing.

The first time, I thought the person was new/not used to the game, so having a topaz carbuncle out and ignoring my pulls/CC/marks/whatever was just part of the new-ness.

Skip to the second run and the same thing with another arcanist, except this time, he pulls regardless of whether I'm there or not, and even straight up dies to pulls of 3+, releases, and then runs back to repeat the process. We even took a little break and when I got back, there was the arcanist, dying again to the next pull.

I took a look at his lodestone and it got even more mysterious.

3 month veteran membership but no pets/mounts/stuff outside of things you'd get effortlessly. a 50 lancer with no subclass to turn it into a job, and a 36 and 30 cnj and arc.

What's up with that? Are they bots? What purpose do they have if they are? if anything they just make instances more annoying as he almost wiped us on the last boss by pulling a group and then running straight to the boss (we ignored him by then, regardless of where he ran off to at times.)

Also, look at his FC, he's a member of Mod Nation. Sounds like a collective group of people building bots and stuff.

It was a tank. Didn't talk, didn't mark, just pulled. And then teleported to the next mob.

It could've been a weird lag effect though.

I was just in game on Ridill and I did a quick search, and saw eight level 50 players in the search results all with nonsense names of random letters, all set as ARC (no Job) in Old Gridania, all set for Duty Finder. I have no idea what dungeon they were attempting, but it's likely they were bots in training again. I mean, I have no proof they were RMT/bots (as all I saw was them in search), but it's highly likely they were.

Did he only focus on one target at a time? Forcing the DD's to tank to keep the Healer safe?

a while ago I did a sastasha run and the tank was most definitely a bot. he behaved exactly like the mob farming bots, everything except teleporting. he ran straight into every pull (every pull. even the ones you can most definitely skip in that instance)
before bosses he always turned 360 and clicked/targetted every single group member. I expect this was programmed to see if the group is there to go for the boss. even in the boss fights he stayed glued to one enemy at a time. (sadly for the second boss fight that was not actually the boss, but an add, and he didn't do it outside of boss fights at all. every time he died he just ran straight back to where ever the next enemy was, no matter if the rest of the group was at the same place -.-)
he also - of course - ran after the pirat after both encounters, never looted, and never rolled. all his gear was white and seriously underleveled. (so was he, for that matter, he was lvl 30something, only gld unlocked)

that's the only - obvious - bot I've encountered so far, but my guess is they only do the starter level dungeons and I haven't done those in a while.

Reason being that later dungeons are more complex, those dungeons fail too much with a bot, so it's more time efficient to do the easier ones. The bot also probably needs to be reconfigured for it to run another dungeon, and those lazy bums just don't bother to check their "progress".

Wait, why would a bot buy collectors edition?
