Battle is very slow

I read all of the battle system - addons, but it seems nothing will change in dynamic. Which will be "in the end" same slow battle system, without life.

I wish for fast and dynamic battle like - Tera (for example)

from the look, its fast and dynamic battle system (I like dmg numbers, a lot better than FFXIV) - and we saw something in FFXII as well, why not here ? :(. I didnt play TERA and I dont intend to.
However Battle in FFXIV takes a lot of slow pace. Which in the end makes battle "boring"

i don't think it will be faster, but depending on how they change it, autoattack doenst mean things get more boring.
A fast-paced system can get very boring as well and very fast IF the tactics are missing (which is the case in ffxiv as well, no tacticts needed). So i think that major changes in tactics, group dynamics will improve the battle experience a lot.

But thats just my hopes for the changes. I wouldnt mind a faster system but it won't become faster i think. It used to be even slower and due to the fact they increased the speed some animations are "broke" or unfinished already.
The game is "realistic" in many ways. And no knight can fight as fast as an "aion" god or a tera character.
Its their special design. I personally like the speed. Since i rather enjoy animations and have good battletactis over the
fast spam-effect-combat style for a ff-mmo (i like the speed in aion (even though i dont like aion) but it fits since you are a god-like creature)

anyways. don't expect speed changes... or better, don't expect anything so you can only be positivly surprised, or at least just be surprised lol

Perhaps this is just me, but that combat looked...rather unappealing to myself. The second video reminded me of a bad Monster Hunter clone. The noises and the voices were really annoying...and watching the first video I honestly didn't think that battle system looked faster or skillful. From watching those, it actually makes me appreciate FFXIV's combat better, lol.

This is just my opinion. Sorry it does not coincide with your own.

i was wondering if tera will be any good, but so far the battles and like you said.. the sound really made me NOT trying that game.
And i really won't. And the Tera community already is bored since the fast battlesystem is just nice at the start but gets
same boring if it lacks depth. This will be a problem for all systems, including ffxiv, if tactics isnt playing a bigger roll.

Its like ffxi. The easier and "spammier" the fights got, the faster people got bored. You need tactics and variety in a battle,
different jobs, different animations etc. to make things appealing for a long time. Also different mobs with different tactics
and approaches. All jobs need to have purposes, Each job needs to ADD to the immersion of a fight and the effectiveness
of a party so nobody gets excluded. This is a major task and not easy to accomplish but its needed.

I really disagree in that combat is slow. Cool down timers of abilities with only a 5 second wait, on top of TP generation at insane rates with a LNC, and added to 8 people all doing this, it turns into a full out spam fest with everyone throwing as much as they can as fast as they can.

I hate that there is no traceability in this game in regards to actions. You never take note of a heavy strike by a party member getting a large hit, or a tactical Featherfoot to avoid an incoming special attack simply because everyone is spamming all of their own abilities non-stop.

where's the problem with a slower combat system?
i'm not gonna say it's more real if you don't swing your sword like a crazy 10 year old replaying scenes from star wars as this is a fantasy game, but i think it's just right as it is.

anyways, 1.18 and the patches after that will include the battle changes, i guess we'll see how it's after those patches.

i guess Tera has it's own game style, after trying it during the beta it felt much like a monster hunter spin-off with all the PvE behaviour.
tho MH's battle system wins as it's more setup for it's game style then Teras'.

i hope to be very wrong on the matter, but i do not see where auto attack can cause the battle system to do anything other than slow down even farther. it may allow people to flirt with each other and try to get an online date by chatting, but i don't see how it will add to the immersion for the battle itself. i'm curious to see how long it takes to have someone posting a youtube video of them soloing mob after mob with their controller sitting on their computer desk and only touching it to run to the next mob and engage.

like i said i hope i am wrong, but i am keeping my hopes horribly low so i can't be disappointed.

slow??....mobs die so fast that mages can barely cast...

about the boring part im with you...

hope the new revamp of the battle system will give us more to think about when we fight.

thinking about ffxi, unless you fought a VERY easy mob far far below your lvl, you dindt last long with autoattack.
I think its to get rid of the mind-less basic attack spamming... That wasnt very appealing to me either.
And i think they use it to make the fights more appealing and give room for animations. And that fits into the style imho.

It wasnt designed to be fps like fast (like tera or aion or whatever), which is obvious. And if they changed that they would need to redo ALL animations, i don't think they will do that, they rather add new.

They wanna change a lot but i don't think they will make a completely new game, which they would have to to achieve all this.

I feel bad for you if that's the reason you think people want to communicate in part situations. You must either have had some horrid experiences, or are pretty much devoid of the ability to communicate with other people normally.
