So I remember a post where Yoshi said that in CT we are going to need to break off into separate 8 person groups at certain points. Let's say you go in with your 8 man group all geared out looking to gear out some of your alt classes. You get in and the other 2 groups of 8 people are barely meeting ilvl req, none of them are from the same fc or grouped up together and are just thrown together by the duty finder.
I would assume there will be bosses that all 24 need to fight, so while you might have a lot of bad players with this set up the rest should be able to carry it (this is hoping they don't tune this to the point where every player needs to play their heart out every fight to succeed). But what about when you split into the 8 man groups, if your group all goes one way, are you then stuck there until the other 2 groups can beat their boss or mini or whatever it is at that point? Is there a way we can go back and beat it for them? Or sub in a couple of our players or something?
This also got me thinking, if we queue with 8 person premades, will the dungeon put our 8 person group into a group once in the dungeon or will it randomly throw people everywhere? What if our good healers both get sent to different groups and our tanks both end up put into a group with 2 awful healers, forced at that point to go down an 8 man wing together?
What if one of the 8 person groups just simply can't beat their wing? Are the other 16 people just supposed to afk until they win?
Basically I'm not seeing a point to joining as an 8 man premade, I'm seeing it as more of a "meh, no ones on im just gonna CT and hope I get a drop" go in on an alt class instead of your main type place. Which is kind of nice, giving you a place to be able to play your alt and improve beyond darklight gear, while not interfering with your raid groups lockouts.
Now if it has lets say a 1 week lockout like coil this completely changes everything I've been thinking about and since each group gets a chest it just becomes a place to fill in gear slots, drop if other groups suck and requeue hoping for better type place.

It's meant to be done in Ilevel 55 gear, just a little harder than CM. So I mean, mostly people can do that, so I think people will be able to handle CT.
As for your groups being divided up when you get in, highly unlikely this will happen. -

It also kind of makes me wonder how the usual response will now go to people who complain about DF groups.
Usually they are told find an FC and run with them, now we are forced to run with 16 people we don't know. -

What Im most worried about is them making bosses drop 1-2 pieces of loot each, for 24 people. That would make me want to not bother with Crystal Tower. Hopefully each group gets their own set of loot. That or each boss drops 6-9 items depending on difficulty and etc.

I'm pretty sure Yoshi said that each group gets their own chest, im just hoping it doesn't randomize the groups once you enter if each person in your group has an alt they are gearing
