You can't switch jobs while in combat to begin with so the above scenario is nonsensical.
I really see no purpose to the CD when switching class given it can only be done of combat, other than to waste your time. You can't even change your class inside an instance already.
heh. I don't think anyone really understands this. it has annoyed me a couple of times, especially while crafting, but oh well. maybe a time sink :P
it's kind of frustrating when I switch class to raise someone and even before I can type 'wait, cd' they have teleported... lol. but apart from that it's really not a big deal.
I don't even understand it for battle classes. it just seems like a not-so-hidden time-sink to me.
Even if every CD reset when you switch classes I hardly doubt someone's going to kill one mob as say Bard while using every CD, and then switch to Dragoon and repeat. In particular, having a CD on abilities that normally have no CD is just stupid. If I have to switch classes for whatever reason I can't do anything beyond autoattack for a good 15 seconds. Given I must be out of combat to switch classes in the first place I really can't imagine how I can possibly gain an advantage by switching classes if I'm allowed to use skills that are normally not on any CD right away.
I switch between crafts constantly, If I switch from weaver to leatherworker for instance, none of my cross craft skills go to CD, so I'm not sure what your complaint is here.
I got that sometimes, the CD for crafting. I understand that's a bug though. Right now when I switched around the crafting jobs, the CD was not there.
