Request: Crafting Item Identification
I'd like to request a feature for making it easier to see which crafting ingredients we want. It's based on the way equipment is identified as usable or not (i.e. a green X in the corner to indicate items that we cannot equip with our current class and a red X in the corner to indicate items that we cannot equip with any class).
I'd like a similar pair of identifying marks to indicate whether we can use a particular crafting ingredient. (For the sake of discussion, I'll refer to them as red and green X's based on the corresponding equipment marks, though it wouldn't necessarily have to use the same graphic.)
If, for example, I switch to alchemist, I'd like to go to my retainer and pick up all the crafting items that are used in any of my available alchemist recipes. Under this system, those would be the ones without an unusable "X" mark (of either color).
When I'm in a DoL class, all crafting ingredients would have an X mark since the gathering classes don't craft with the items they gather, but the color of that mark would indicate the item's usefulness. If I have recipes needing this item in some of my DoH classes, then the X mark would be green, whereas if I don't then the X mark would be red.
I've seen some other suggestions for looking up specifically which recipes an item is used in, and I support those as well, but I think that first we need a quick at-a-glance identification of whether the item is used at all.

Oh, a further modification to make it more useful for higher level crafters: add a grey X to indicate that although we have access to recipes (in our current class) that use this item, all such recipes are three or more tiers below our current level. So there's now four categories:- no X mark: This ingredient is used in recipes for our current class that are in either our highest or second-highest currently available tier of recipes.
- grey X mark: This ingredient is used in recipes for our current class, but they're all at least three tiers down from our highest-level stuff.
- green X mark: This ingredient is not used in recipes for our current class, but is used in recipes we have access to in another class.
- red X mark: This ingredient is not used in any recipes we yet have access to in any class.
