Materia That Should Be
I think of all the Materia we have in game, some of it isn't very useful, but its all Stat-oriented. What I'd love to see is the following Materia:
Loot Drop Up
HQ Loot Up
Enmity Down
Enmity Up
Spiritbond Up
Stealth (Decrease Level needed for an Aggro-Enemy to ignore you)
HP Absorb
MP Absorb
TP Absorb
MP Cost Down
TP Cost Down
CP Cost Down
GP Cost Down
MP Regen Up
TP Regen Up
GP Regen Up
XP Gain Up
(Status) Attack
(Status) Resist
Companion XP Gain Up

That would be awesome. Because now materia are just "enchantments" from other mmo. Untill devs wake up, u need to play a different online game if u want true materia system.

Wouldn't MP Cost Down be effectively the same as Piety materia?

I'd like to see these stats just come back in general, be it materia or base stats on dropped items. Specific damage boosts for elemental affinities would be nice as well.

Ohh gods now let's make it a typical MMO where you have stuff like that all over again can't wait here why not give a materia that makes your Blade shining or your head flaming? ... Totally dissagree

Treasure Hunter Materia I could see, but I'm guessing such 'specialised' should be rare drops from Spiritbonding and /or dungeon bosses or NMs. What else could we get, increased Gil I suppose?
Consumable materia is another thing it might be worth considering - say a materia that has a certain number of reraise charges depending on what level it is, or is that too similar to a reraise earring from XI?

Pretty sure Yoshi already stated that Materia like Regen and such would be added to the game at a later point. They wanted to keep things just as stats right now as it's easy to balance.

Need Steal materia in that list. Chance to steal enemy dropped items.
Other than that, I totally support this thread. Have been saying this since day 1.
