I don't see lots of people using it. Yet I am curious, do people even use this. Do you have multiple battle logs for damage given, or taken? What are the settings for the chat logs for you?
Input please :)

I use mine as a sch, filtering everything except special attacks, for avoidance and leeches purposes.
Only use it in a "WTF killed me ?" situation to find the answer to that question. Otherwise, the damage numbers and flying text are enough feedback most of the time. battle log is too spammy to be useful during the battle itself.
I use the battle log for status changes.
"Who suffered the effect of what", Leech them.
"Tank gains the effect of Hollowed Ground", stop healing them.
I'm not into watching icons (and hoping they display).
Since we can only have 4 chat tabs, I converted mine into a loot/system message window for things I care about, yet don't want flooding my main chat window. If I care to run a combat parser, I just switch on battle messages as needed.
I pretty much just have one set to party chat & Buffs/Debuffs and one set to Loot/system messages to look back on after a fight but other then that it just get's to jumbled. As far as i'm concerned the Log still needs work before it's really useful, ~"So and so" suffers/recovers from.. ~ really needs to be separated in text/color. that and they really should allow for changing of background color in the chat log like they had in XI, it gets to be a huge pain/strain trying to follow the log in a lot of lighting conditions. course that's just my thought on it
