Relics

Is it still worth it to go for Relics esp. +1 considering patch 2.1 will offer a new set of weapons that's i/80i90 also?

Probably at least on one class, so you can use that one to get these new ones~ Don't let yourself be the carried one~

I'm too fat to be carried.

Just did titan for scholar relic 4th one. I had 5-10 second lag spikes. How exactly does SE expect me to heal through this? Party had to disband because of the lag... its ridiculous..

Pretty much this, it's likely tuned to relic dps and looking to get carried so you can skip gear progression is really disrespectful to the others in the group who put in the work.

Edit: I'm referring to the extreme primals

According to the Live Letter, the new dungeons give iLv 60 stuff.
The extreme primals require about iLv70, or whatever it is required to defeat Titan Hard Mode.
After all three extreme primals, you get a iLv90 weapon as a reward.

In other words, your choice of weapons are still:
iLv 55 - GC, WP
iLv 60 - new dungeons and hard mode dungeons, Ifrit HM
iLv 70 - Garuda HM weapons
iLv 80 - Relic, Crystal Tower, Mog King (thanks to Crimsonforce for the reminder)
iLv 90 - Relic+1, Extreme Primals reward weapon
iLv 95 - Allagan

So if you are confident you can down Titan Extreme any day, then why not, save 900 myth and wait for it.

You'll probably do the Mog with Garuda/Titan weapons, get his level 80, fill in Darklight and go to extreme primals.

They seem to be a harder but faster option for level 90 weapons, with +1 Relic being easier but taking longer.

Pretty clever, I hope it works.

It's likely that upgrades will be available for the relics in the future. But it's a good thing that there are options- considering the relics aren't particularly hard to get anymore.

I seem to remember reading something in the Q&A about the new extreme primals being a part of the relic quest. I wonder if that means that the current relic quests will be changed to require extreme modes, or if there will be a relic upgrade for completing the extreme primals.

Would seem like a big middle finger to new players if they changed the quest requirements.....
