Dragoon/Lancer - Keen Flurry

I don't really see much point to this skill for a dragoon/lancer. Sure, dragoon/lancer can serve as an off-tank for earlier levels, but at later levels a defensive skill like this is pretty much wasted on us because a boss can 1-shot us.

The classes that could benefit from it as a cross-class skill don't draw from lancer, so it's once again pretty useless to us.


I'd like to see Keen Flurry re-purposed into something a dps class can use effectively.

It's for situational use. Such as soloing (even if there's no significat solo content right now at 50), or maybe pvping (usefulness unknown), emergencies (tank accidentally dying while aoe tanking in WP due various reasons, could lengthen your lifespan a little bit longer until tank stands back up to grab enmity back), accidental unwanted agro due to aoe crits, etc. Why does everything have to be for dps anyway? Anything that's not dps is useless? Should life surge's hp gain be removed from the effects then?

Real useful in turn 4 when you got crap smacking you in the face for free AoE damage. Real useful in garuda when you standing in the sister meat grinder. Any other mass unavoidable AoE situation. I like it. :x

Generally it's wise to wait to max level to evaluate the usefulness of an ability. They should be weighed in the context of all available abilities at max level as well as the situations in which it can be used at max level (specific bosses and such). Defensive cooldowns are always nice to have, especially when Keen Flurry works out to a flat damage reduction more or less.

As a BRD, I pretty often pop Keen Flurry and Feather Foot when Garuda spawns her adds. Why? Because the green one will be on me, every time, and that's not counting the aoes from the red add. If you're in an aoe storm, why would you not pop a defensive ability? I understand that it doesn't see a *lot* of use, but it sees enough use that I keep it on my bar.

It will also get more use when the second job for Lancer comes out, TankingLancer.

I use it on T5's fireballs.

Didn't know you could parry those. Do you know if you could dodge them as well?

You can parry them, but I don't think dodges are possible on the fireballs.
