SMN: Making up for lost accuracy?

So with my recent upgrades to my SMN gear (+1 chest, gloves, helm, and hero's ring to replace the demagouge) the accuracy drop is REALLY hurting. I'm curious as to what the best options would be for getting this back, what pieces (crafted/myth/etc) should I look into getting to get it back up to par? I'm also not running Coil enough for allagan to be a viable choice for me right now, so any crafted gear suggestions (with optimal melds) or other myth purchases would be useful.

I do have a Vanya chest piece that I use when I go into coil, but I feel pretty awful when I use that over my lovely smn robes. :< Feels like I got my chest for nothing.

Accuracy is kind of a wang stat... it's incredibly important up until the cap, then thoroughly worthless beyond. Dropping down to vanya until you can make up the accuracy elsewhere is probably your best bet.

Though depending on the gap in your current gear and the necessary accuracy for coil, stuffed cabbage could make up the difference, or look at demogogue accessories and see if any of them have some accuracy on them that darklight or allagan/hero's doesnt have.

Yeah, the demagouge ring has accuracy on it, and I didn't even notice it did till I swapped it for that hero's ring and wondered where all my accuracy went! o.O I'm mostly trying to get enough dps for t4 without having to lose so much accuracy, as my last group that tried it didn't have enough to get past the first dreadnaught before the next wave spawned. >.<

My set for coil would be Vanya robes of Casting, Summoner's Ringbands and Helm, Darklight Pants/Boots/all accessories save one ring which can be hero's or demagougue. Is this enough for t4? Is my dps the problem there or was it my groups dps as a whole?

Depending on how much you're willing to spend, crafted accessories are a good place to shore up your accuracy. Personally I'm using neck/ring atm and will be crafting earrings shortly, and I plan on using those to hold me over until allagan boots/pants drop for me (in your case, you could use them until you save up myth to buy pants/boots). They're actually a decent upgrade over dl accessories so it's not completely wasted money, and you can use them on your sch as well if you play it (definitely a benefit for me).

Edit: If your group isn’t clearing the dreadnought before p4, then I don’t think it’s your individual dps/gear that’s the issue (unless you’re not casting dots at all or something ridiculous like that). Your gear doesn’t sound much different than what I was in when we cleared t4 the first time. I think I was in af +1 helm, allagan chest/gloves/ring, astral neck, everything else DL.

I don't play sch, but I'd probably be able to use them on WHM/BLM. xD

I think perhaps some crafted gear could be a good choice. The crafted necklace seems like a viable option.

I would get a crafted earring or crafted ring, but not necklace.

Looking at your gear and ACC, you may want to get a crafted ring, earring, AND vanya belt. Also, your next myth purchase should be boots or legs.

Yeah, I ended up deciding to try to get a crafted ring for now, then work towards myth legs next. Saving those philos for those peacock ores. OTL

If I'm looking at this right, you're about 30 ACC short when you take off the Darklight? And you have the horn and ringbands already so the best thing to do would be as mentioned buy your pants for the 34 ACC if you are not counting on allagan drops.

I'm not SMN main so take it with a grain of salt but what I would do if I was more than 300 tomestones away from the pants, I'd pocket the Hero ring and go back to Demo+DL ring pair for the ACC, check the market wards for a cheap Vanya sash (NQ is fine) and then put 2x Heavens' Eye III in it for 12 more ACC. If no cheap ones are for sale, gather your own Potash and have one made so it can be HQ. Then I would do the same thing for either an Astral Choker or an Astral Bracelet (or honestly you can just get Black Pearl for really cheap and then throw materia at it if you don't want to farm 2250 philo). You'd be around 336 ACC then which should be good enough to hold you until you get your pants. Honestly though if you did this you could even go for the boots next instead of the pants.

If you get boots next, then you swap out Demo for Hero ring and are are around 446 ACC which is not enough overkill to worry about. If you didn't meld anything besides ACC onto your crafted stuff, you can swap 1 of them out for DL if you want (especially if it was NQ) to lose 12 ACC and then eat an ACC food.

If you get pants next, it's basically the same thing but you don't need any crafted and you'll be at 447 ACC (and have matching pants, and the nice INT/VIT on pants).

In either case, the melded accessories may also prove useful for you if you get some allagan drops and need to shuffle gear around. Or when you play BLM.

With Myth Head/Body/Gloves/Ring, you're going to be about 50 accuracy short of the T5 accuracy cap for the pet. (which you can't hit with food)

The best way to make this up is Pants/Boots, preferably Allagan, but in lieu of that, Neck/Wrist/Belt are the only slots that don't come with accuracy built in on items i70 or above.

Long term, none of those options are great, so go into it with that in mind. You will inevitably be replacing the item you spent all those hundreds of thousands of gil on, but it will at least get you through until either both Allagan legs/boots drop, or you get enough Myth to buy the AF+1 alternative.

Since I am going to gear a smn for a 2nd coil a week group I plan to fix that by not using BiS and getting the AF+1 pants or boots, not sure just how bad it will get. As well as I plan to address the accuracy issue use the astral bracelet, it is the only accessory that is not darklight that does not have accuracy and will more than likely be used over allagan at this point in time just because of the more vit as well. But as it goes just ignore the BiS idea and maybe get the AF+1 pants/boots and go for BiS on the right side in terms of i90.
