My suggestion to Square Enix for the future of MMOs.
Make your MMOs as if you're making your offline games because one big thing you forgot to add in FFXIV is "fun" and nothing is going to change that, its ingrained in the game. This game is horrible and it might get better but it'll never become the game it could have and should have been and the game that everyone expected at launch.
At this point nothing is going to bring back the PC players, so they are completely dependent on the PS3 players simply because the magic of starting a new game is gone for almost all PC players who wanted to play this game. A year after release I still find myself wondering what the hell went wrong with this game. And now they're making a new MMO? who cares. FFXI was my first and gladly my last MMO, it was a great game and not half assed like FFXIV.
Make whatever new MMOs you have planned into something fun. Don't give us generic time sinks; like running around for ages when it comes to storyline quests, like warping around zones to shop for stuff, like running off to some corner of the map to finish a quest (the quests are boring as hell too). I mean if the game had nice environments one would accept the fact that it has you running around, its at least nice to look at, but instead we get these dull wastelands with nothing to look forward to. Doesn't look like they are going to change much when it comes to the map, and understandably, they take too much time and they have enough on their plate but this shouldn't have even been an issue. I don't care about copy/paste, I care that there is no variety whatsoever...somehow they decided that seamless is more important than variety.
