Is it just me or does BLM need a buff? Need confirmation if I am right with this.

As it looks now from what I have seen and heard BLM is obsolete in coil.

Before I got flamed, the party setup is like this on the DPS front:
2-3 bards (usually, sometimes 1 does, but pretty rare) 1-2 Melee DPS (Because of melee LB
0-1!!! Magic DPS. Where SMN is WAY better in both DMG and utility.

This leaves us BLM in pretty bad position. Not WAR bad, but still bad.

Can someone please confirm to me that it is just me. Nothing would make it happier, but from the theory craft going on in the circles I play this seems to sadly be true.

I just want to have it confirmed if I am right or wrong

As a blm I feel that it is very easy to do terrible dps if u aren't familiar and confortable with your rotation. If u have to stop mid rotation you need to know where to start again. It can take us a while to spool up again, I don't really have any advice because blm rotation is pretty much the same for everyone, it just comes down to feeling blm as a part of you. Get so familiar with blm that u don't have to think what to do next. I hear smn is great for turn 5 because they can slow whatever, have a pet take conflag, but blm is not useless in coil. Monday when we cleared turn 4 I did 186k total dmg with 334 dps. That makes me feel pretty decent about BLM. I don't think we need a buff just some minor adjustments. Oh, and manawall is the bees knees.

If groups are bringing in 2-3 bards over any other class they're gimping their raid for bringing in subpar dps over a caster or another melee. 2 bards I can understand due to how much utility they give, but 3? At that point there is no extra utility to give and that bard is taking up a spot where another dps could come in and actually bring some real dps over the gimped bard.

Most groups I roll with have a black mage and even two on turn 4 due to mechanics. Good summoners are hard to find, but then again, good players in general are hard to find.

Black mages can do more dps than other positions at times if they are doing their rotations right, and depending on their gear, as stated above. Trust me, blms are not obsolete anywhere. No matter what position you play, if you do it well, people will want you.

Who is taking three bards?

1 or 2 bards.
1 or 2 casters.
1 and very rarely 2 melee.

People only really want two bards in Coil because of T2 and their silence being the easiest to use.

I think BLM is fine.
