My experience soloing CM's boss last night

So last night I needed some philo. Decided to give CM a shot since I had never experienced post-patch CM before. I walk in and immediately one of the tanks start complaining about people in cutscenes.

This is literally how this kid types: "Whys the monk (not me, the other AF monk) in cutscenes? this is why we need a ****in votekick to ****in get these slow *****es out of here". I was like "relax im a monk in full DL i got this let him watch the cutscenes".

So basically that one tank is complaining and complaining the entire time about being slowed down by the cutscene watchers, so by the time we got past the cannons and to the final boss, I was quite fed up with it. The party was starting to wipe to the collosus at the cannon (why? Who knows) but 3 of us managed to get into the boss room. a Collosus snuck into the bossroom and killed two people right before the fight started. The fight started, gate locked behind me, and I was the only person, a monk, in the bossroom.

I decided to solo it while the other 7 were outside the gate going "wtf". Propped fists of wind -> sprint, kited boss and adds. To regen health I propped mantra -> second wind with the occasional bloodlust. When I felt ready to fight adds, switched to fists of earth -> foresight and let loose. The fight took a total of 15 minutes while the tank was like "WTF IS GOING ON **** YOU MONK EVERYBODY REPORT HIM". Downed phase 1, let everyone in the room for phase 2, and started phase 2 boss, finished it, and people were a bit happier. Some said they reported the tank for harrassment as they left, and all was good.

So yeah, the phase 1 boss is soloable, my gear was full DL with 2 allagan and relic +1. Phase 2 might be soloable but it'll be a lot more difficult and probably not possible for a Monk. Warrior would have better luck I imagine. Kind or ridiculous that one person can take on a raid boss that 8 players are supposed to fight though and come out the victor. I always knew that boss was easy.

But anyway, I fulfilled my lifelong dream in this game and decided: Never again CM, never again.

Any other similar experiences or comments?

You must be someone that tells people to skip cutscenes in DF of all places. I don't really mind.

I don't get what you are trying to prove here. It is to tell everyone that you can solo an 8 Man Boss? Instead of wiping and let everyone in to make the fight last 3 minutes, you decided to make the fight 15+ minutes long while everyone is stuck outside and watching. I don't know if I wanted to stay in that situation myself.

So you solo'd the first phase where the boss deals literally 50 damage per hit?

I avoid CM like the plague for this reason. Makes me wonder/fear how bad duty finder Crystal Tower is going to be. 8 people can rarely get along.... 24 is going to be bad!

If someone acted like that towards me... I would "rewatch" the CS. XD

There's always babies like that in CM. Getting mad because new people watching cutscene. If they really want to speed run it them formed a party at Mor Dhona or something. Should have known by now that DF always pair the group up to 1-4 new people.

It's nice to see a boss being soloed. :D Grats, hope the tank will get some punishment for his harassment. -_-

This. The tank was most likely pissed that you were holding up the run instead of just dying. Leaving over CS watchers is stupid, but some guy dragging on the fight just for their moment of narcissistic glory would piss me off too. Good thing 2.1 will keep OP out of my parties.
